Ryan looked at gabby "you know what i mean sweetie, you almost said it a minute ago and you have been trying to hide it this whole time. If you want to be with me you need to be able to say it."

Gabby sighed. "Alright fine." She raised her eyes and looked directly ar Ryan. "I love you" she said simply. "I love you but I'm so scared." A tear slid down her cheek and she turned to stare into the fire, pained that something so beautiful as love also caused her so much hurt.

Ryan put his arms around her and interlocked their fingers and sat behind her and whispered in her ear "i love you too." as he kissed her cheek.

Gabby leaned back against Ryan, secure in his arms. She twisted round to look up at him. "I know it sudden, we've only known each other for a day. But you make me feel invincible, like nothing can hurt me. I feel beautiful and special and wanted. I feel on top of the world. Tell me how you feel." She asked after planting a kiss on his cheek.

Gabby kissed him, letting time pass. She didn't want it to ever end, but she felt that there was a slight desperation behind it, as if they only had a certain amount of time.

Gabby sensed that Ryan was not quite at ease and she couldn't let it go. As much as she hated to, she pulled back. "Is everything ok? You seem a little distracted." She watched him carefully for his reaction. Drinking in his behaviour and tone of voice in case it revealed anything.

"Great, so how about some dessert?" Gabby went over and sat down by the basket. Briefly she shut her eyes and wished that all the other food was gone so that there was space on the blanket. she knew that she was distancing herself from him as a defence mechanism, she felt stupid, letting herself get so close to someone, she was just asking for heartache.

Gabby glanced up and saw the tell tale signs. "Ryan, I was straight with you. Now its your turn to be honest. Like I said I'm not stupid, something is going on. Just tell me" Gabby was a litle angry now. She had poured out her soul to Ryan yet he was holding something back. she guessed that what he was about to tell her, if he did tell her, would hurt. But she would rather be alone than with someone who hadn't told her the truth or who had deceived her or used her. If that was the case Ryan would regret that he had ever spoken to her, ever kissed her. well for a time at least. Gabby had a big heart and she knew that she should hold onto someone that made her laugh, even if she wasn't the one for him. Her grandmother had made that mistake and warned her against it.
