"It would," Rowan agreed, "but I don't know nearly enough about potions to guess at the viability of it. I do think, though, that Crouch was probably able to let it go at night and sleep as himself." He shrugged. It wasn't anything he cared to look into at any length, or at all, really. It had been an interesting thought.

Keith nodded. "Not to mention he was insane." He looked out over the room and went silent for a moment. "So Matthew wasn't too happy when I talked to him the other day," he said, breaching a subject that he wasn't entirely certain about. He couldn't guess how Rowan would react.

Rowan blinked at the change of subject. Matthew. He'd forgotten about Matthew, Keith's best friend and, he suddenly recalled, Keith's boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend now, Rowan would guess. It was strange realizing that apparently he was with Keith now. He looked expectantly at Keith, then took a long drink of water.

"I planned on just telling him and well, it didn't really happen as easily as I thought. He kicked me out when I told him I chose you," Keith said. He hadn't gone back, though he intended to. He wanted to wait until he had talked to Rowan again before trying. It was probably smartest to wait, Matthew was certain to contact him.

I chose you. It was uncomfortable hearing that, and Rowan didn't understand it. "Do I need to watch my back?" he asked dryly. "Do you?" Not that he had any actual worries about Matthew seeking him out for revenge, but the man seemed to have an easily-pricked temper, or at least he had the one time Rowan had met him.

Keith shook his head. "If he does what I think he'll do, he'll brood and mope around for a while and eventually he'll be okay with it. I just think it's going to take longer than I thought. Of course, sometimes he can be...immature sometimes." That was a bit of an understatement, but at least between them Matthew tended to get over it quickly.

Rowan nodded, but there was really nothing he could say about somebody he knew so little of. He was quiet, drinking his water and thinking back on the conversation he'd had with Keith only days ago. He still wasn't sure of the details, and he still didn't want to know everything that had happened, but he wondered all the same. What had possessed him to do whatever he'd done?

"Are you okay with what happened?" Keith asked after a long moment of silence. "I mean, I know we talked about it, but you were kind of...hungover." It only felt right to make sure Rowan had a last chance to consider it with something of a clear mind. He would rather simply take what had happened and lay with Rowan for a while, but that wasn't an option.

"I'm okay with what we talked about," he said, making the distinction for himself more than for Keith. "Keeping things at a professional level obviously wasn't working." That was likely what had made the decision for him. He'd put distance between them and waken in Keith's bed. If he wanted to figure things out, he had to try something different. It wasn't as though he'd promised sexual favors..

Keith nodded and echoed Rowan's obviously softly. "You're a hell of a kisser when you can let go, you know," he said, glancing over at Rowan. Though it was possibly too far, he couldn't help but smile. He crossed one ankle over his opposite knee and brought his hands together in his lap to toy absently with the hem of his shirt.

Rowan's brows arched in surprise. That was something he'd never considered, nor really been interested in. "Thanks... I guess," he said. How had he let go? What had been different this time? His charm had to be more powerful than he realized to have made that big a difference in how he acted. Despite the joke, he suddenlt wished he had taken notes.

"You weren't worrying about anything except what felt good, it was nice, and you were able to talk." Keith supposed that if he had to get Rowan wasted in order to pull things out of him it wasn't too bad, was it? At least that way it didn't lead to fights because he was prying. "You're a lot of fun to talk to, even when you're sober."

"Well, that's nice to know," Rowan said dryly. Even when you're sober. He certainly hoped so! "I'm not getting wasted like that again, so don't get your hopes up." He looked into the room as he took another drink, then leaned to set the bottle back on the carpet.

"I...I didn't mean that," Keith said. "I just wanted to tell you and I didn't want you to think I just meant when you were wasted...god, I've got a long road ahead of me," he finished under his breath. He wasn't used to it being hard, but he thought it was worth the work, he did like Rowan.

Rowan didn't hear that last bit from Keith, and it was for the better. What he had heard was enough to get Keith a look, though not another snide comment. Rowan knew he was being touchy, he just couldn't—or didn't care to—control it. "The E left me in a pissy mood," he said, as close to an apology as he'd get.
