It was probably silly, but Storm took a detour taking a route around of Chase's office so it looked like she was coming out from a different direction. Storm made sure to take her time, stopping just in front of where the room of requirements was. With a small smile she continued on, not paying attention to where she was going.
The castle hadn't changed, it was quiet, most students in classes or studying in the library at this time. It was relaxing, her fingers tracing over the stone walls as she walked Storm obviously deep in thought going back to the conversation she had with Chase. 'It will happen.' she kept repeating to herself in her mind; continuously reminded herself that she would have to be patient. Storm hadn't paid any attention to where she was, but her thoughts were enough to keep her company...

Michael was on his way home from his office, and the last person he had expected to see was the one person he came upon in one of the many corridors he had to take between the two places he spent most of his time. His steps slowed before finally stopping. He didn't say anything, what was he supposed to say to someone that he had once counted as a very close friend?

Storm was too focused on the thoughts that were running through her mind, but a figure snapped her back into reality and she couldn't help but to freeze. The color on her face drained, if Storm had planned on seeing him, she wanted to be in a more closed environment and something ready to say. But this caught her off guard, not only had it been two years, but her friendship with Michael she, in same way or another, messed up. Swallowing, Storm couldn't think of anything to say. "H... Hey." she mentally slapped herself 'smooth move'.
Storm knew that even if she got on her knees and begged for forgiveness, she wouldn't achieve much. She had missed the most important day of Michael's life and till that day she never explained why.

"Hi," Michael returned. What the hell was he supposed to do with Storm there in front of him? "Um...why exactly are you in the castle?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly and his head tilting. Surely she wasn't there to see him, and hadn't she said she was never coming back, anyway? He hadn't seen her in over a year and a half, so much had happened since then. A hand dropped subconsciously to his stomach.

Storm wasn't expecting a response, but she was relieved that he managed to talk to her. Storm looked straight at Michael, unable to look away at one of the few friends she had while here. Wringing her hands together she finally summoned enough courage to speak. "I came to see my old home again." well that wasn't fully true, Storm had come to this general area to further her business, but with the castle so close she couldn't not come. "How have you been?" it was hard, her mind taunting her and her careless mistake. Screaming at how stupid she was, and now she was faced with another person she had messed up with. Would it be like with Chase, would she say the right words to get her friendship back with Michael? As amazing as it sounded.... she didn't think so.

"I've been good," Michael said, uncertainty obvious in his voice. "We live in the castle now, have our own tower." She had missed so much. So why didn't he feel like brushing by her and pretending he hadn't even seen her? He wasn't the kind to just forgive and forget. Maybe it was just another of the many side effects from his most recent body change.

Storm nodded, what was she supposed to say? Talk as if nothing had ever happened? The tone in his voice made her body stiffen slightly, one wrong word and she knew she would ruin the one opportunity she may have of making amends with Michael. “That sounds lovely.” She knew he was talking about himself and Dare, but it made her insides squirm. Would Dare appreciate the fact that Storm was here? So many question, every possible thing she wanted to say she would question. “It’s nice seeing you again.” Her voice was tiny and had it been anyone else; she would have looked away, but Storm had too much respect for him.
Storm looked over her old friend, he looked different a bit. Despite it being only about two years, he looked much more mature. His aura was calm and while she couldn’t figure out what it was, but he looked somewhat different. Storm took a deep breath, preparing to say something, but no words came to mind… she could only wait for him to say something.

Michael was silent for a few long moments before he nodded. "It's good to see you, too," he admitted. He hadn't thought he would think so, but as he dropped his hand from his stomach he realized he really didn't have the same feeling of anger in him that he had had when he last spoke to her. Yes, he was still disappointed in her, but it was just that, disappointment. It was no longer intense anger. "I thought you said you weren't coming back."

Storm was relieved. He was talking to her. While she kept herself composed, deep down inside she was bursting with joy and the tiny grin on her face only showed a tiny portion of what she was feeling inside. "I wasn't, I'm not back..." well that depended. Storm could only think back to her conversation with Chase. If she could choose, she would love for everything to work out perfectly, but only time would tell. "I was in Hogsmeade and I... thought I would drop by to see home and maybe say hello." it was the truth, but Storm had set out to not go near the castle, but with it so close by she couldn't just not come.
Storm came a bit closer, it was easier to be able to talk to him from this proximity rather than from halfway down the hall.

Michael raised an eyebrow at her answer. "Were you going to try to talk to me?" he asked, his hands raising again to rest against the front of his professor's robes. The gesture was probably more obvious than it should have been, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't help but feel like this was a reason he was able to be so calm this time talking to her.

Storm looked away, the answer was no. "I didn't think I was going to be worth your time." it was the truth, Michael she wanted to avoid, she didn't want to cause any more drama and she didn't want to bother him.He was probably living a beautiful and peaceful life with his spouse, she didn't want to ruin that.
Looking up at him, she faintly wondered if he would be offended by her somewhat no. Yes, Michael was a great friend, but Storm had been such a terrible one, she didn't feel like she had a right to try to talk to him.

"It still hurts," Michael said. "That you didn't show up, you know? No matter the excuse." They hadn't had much support, even within their families, and so her support had meant so much to them. Then for her not to show up... He mentally shook his head. He had finished things with Emilian, that was a sign of something, maybe it was time to rethink old contacts in general.

What was it like to have a friend miss the most important day of your life? Storm could only faintly imagine and she wanted to understand so bad. "I had no excuse to not be there for you two. But... I don't know how to apologize." well she could start with sorry, but only meant so much. Was there a way she could physically show him that she was sorry; that she hated herself for missing it and that she screwed up by not being there? Storm voice was low, her tone apologetic and filled with regret, but even then she doubted her tone meant anything anyone could fake that. "I thought after that, that you never would want me in your life again and... I understand to an extent why." she would be lying if she said she fully understood, because she had never been abandoned in important times... Michael had always been a shoulder to cry on, a person to laugh with and a figure she could always turn to in times of need. And how did she repay him? By not showing up to his own wedding!

Michael was silent for some time, unsure what to say. He couldn't just forgive and forget that easily, could he? But they had been focusing more on family...on connecting, on creating a family of their own, there wasn't much energy or time for anything else. There definitely wasn't enough energy for grudges. "I don't know what to do," he admitted. "I want to let you back in, but..." It feels like something I just don't do. But so much had changed...

Storm looked down, away from the object of her guilt, away from the mistake she had made and away from the bridge she burnt. But had she? Had she fully demolished the bridge with Michael? He had said he wanted to let her back in, but would he? Storm felt like she needed to beg, but then it would mean she didn't respect him enough. Instead, she raised her head and looked him square in the eyes. "And if you want me to be a part of your life... I will be," she paused wanted to reached over and hug the man she had seen to be just like a brother. Michael was always the first to hear from her when she was having a tough time and she wanted to repay him by being there for whatever there was to come in the future. "and just as easily, if you want me to never be a part of your life, then I can leave you in peace." But would she be fully away from him? If her plan with Chase was to be successful, then wouldn't she be in the castle more? It would be impossible not to come in contact with Michael.
Storm shook her head, she prayed that it would be the former, she wanted him to give her a second chance so bad, but how could she show him that she changed... that she was more present in the real world rather than stowed away in the confined of her own mind?
