Verity stared at the door, willing for it to open and for a million customers to bustle in. Well, maybe not a million, but enough to keep her busy without being too stressed. She heaved a bored sigh. She hated slow periods, like this one, and they were more common now that there weren’t as many students traipsing about Hogsmeade. It was summer and most of them went home, those lucky fools. Verity didn’t really have a home to go home to. Hogwarts had become more of a home than anywhere else had ever been.
Verity walked around to the other side of the counter and sat down in one of the stools. She planned on getting up is someone came in, but the place was completely abandoned. It could have to do with the fact that it was that awkward time in the afternoon. It was too late for a lunch rush and too early for the evening crowd. There wasn’t anything to really do but sit there and tap her fingers against her re-finished counter top, thanks to Jamie. She had already cleaned the dishes, calculated the report from lunch, and prepared the food for dinner. She racked her brain for other chores she could do to keep busy. Just sitting there and not doing anything at all was driving her mad.

Cammy had officially been at Hogwarts for a little over a week and had only met two people. It was time for her to get out more. So, in the morning Cammy put on one of her new summer dresses, a pair of wedges, and primped up to go hang out at Hogsmeade. Maybe another time she would go to Diagon Alley, but for now she decided to not stray too far.
After an hour or so of walking around, shopping, and relaxing she came across the Three Broomsticks. Never having been in there before, she walked in. The place was suprisingly empty for what appeared to be a very nice day. Nevertheless she stepped right on in and looked around, the place seemed like a good place for a shopping break.

Verity jumped up when she heard the bells on the door clang as it opened. She half-expected Jamie to walk in just because she happened to be thinking about him. He seemed to disappear and Verity was worried. As a friend, and only a friend. She pushed all thoughts of Jamie and his odd disappearance out of her head as she swiftly moved to her usual spot behind the counter and waited for whoever it was who had entered to show themselves. When a blonde girl about the same age as Verity appeared, Verity offered a warm smile. "Hi." She said brightly. "Welcome to the Three Broomsticks. Can I help you with anything?" A hopeful grin danced across her face. She did hope the new customer would stay and have something to eat or drink rather than turn and walk out. Verity needed something to do.
