"That's an interesting name." Verity said shrugging. "That's the first time I've heard it as a name." It was nothing more than an observation. Still, Verity could stop thinking about Jamie and it was beginning to make her feel sick to the stomach. So, she did what she did best, she changed the subject. "Do you have any big plans before the term starts? I can't believe how quickly summer is going. It's like almost over." There was a part of Verity that was excited to get back to school, to throw herself into her final year as a student. She was mostly excited that she would be staying at Hogwarts and not starting at yet another school. But then there was a larger part of Verity that would miss the summer. There was still so much she wanted to do while she was still free.

"Nothing, really. I've been working on divination stuff...thinking about getting another piercing. What about you?" The summer had gone by fast, overall, though each day seemed to drag on and on. He wanted that piercing, though, since he had a little bit of money and his latest one was all but completely healed. Of course, it was still sore if it got stuck on something or pressed a funny way, but all in all it was fine.

"Another piercing? That's pretty cool." Verity said. "I've thought about getting something. Something small, like my cartilage though, I think I would have to work my way up to something bigger." So far the only piercings Verity had were a single hole in each of her ears. She didn't want a ton of piercings, just a couple. The thought of a needle piercing a hole through her skin was enough to make her second guess her desire for any piercing. She had gotten her ears pierced when she was a baby, so at least she didn't have to remember what the pain felt like.

"Cartilage isn't bad, the ones I have didn't hurt as bad as the others," Jory said, gesturing to his ears. He had a lope piercing in each ear, along with a couple of cartilage ones in one, and an extra lobe one in the same one. "I'm working my way up to the bad ones." Like his hips, those were going to hurt so bad, but they were going to be so worth it. "The cartilage ones just take forever to stop hurting totally. I mean, sleeping on them wrong will make them sore sometimes."

"Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of." Verity said with a little laugh. "I'm such a wimp about pain." She admitted sheepishly. The most painful thing she ever had to endure was when she had her tonsils taken out just before her ninth birthday. At least then she had all the ice cream she had ever wanted at her fingertips. Not to mention, her father bought her a new purebred horse as a gift after her surgery.

"I'll go with you, if you want," Jory said, smiling. "I don't like pain, but it's worth it. I was thinking of going and getting something done today if you want to come." He wasn't thinking of anything serious, just an eyebrow. They looked really good most of the time, and it was something that would be a good middle ground one, just like his belly button ring.

"Really?" Verity said, her eyes growing wide with excitement. For some reason, she hadn't expected to do it so soon, but why not? Carpe diem, there's no time like the present, etc, etc. "Ohmygod that would be so cool!" She gushed. "Is that why you're going to London?" This was Verity's first time in Diagon Alley, but she didn't see any piercing places when she was walking around earlier and with all the time she spent in Hogsmeade, she knew there weren't any there.

"Yep," Jory said, nodding and grinning at Verity's excitement. "There's a wizard there that does piercings and tattoos. He's kind of grumpy, but he does a good job." And he was cute, and he had that accent, though Jory got the uneasy feeling the man wasn't entirely comfortable with guys like him. At least he seemed more interested in keeping up his good name when it came to his work than keeping certain people out.

"Ohhh...a tattoo..." Verity said thoughtfully. Maybe she was getting too far head of herself, letting her mind run wild. If she was nervous about the pain she would have from a cartilage, it probably wasn't the best idea to consider having a giant needle permanently drill ink into her skin. But it was kind of appealing, the thought of getting a tattoo. Verity took a bite from her cone, it one of the best parts about eating ice cream.

"I have one of those, too," Jory said, reaching around to pat himself on the back of his shoulder. "Right here, shooting stars colored up in rainbow colors." He brought his hand back to his spoon, stirring everything together, well, everything that was left. There wasn't a whole lot of it still in his bowl. It had been so good, though, it would have been impossible not to speed through it.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, Verity knew it wasn't the best idea to get a tattoo yet, but she was like a little kid. Once the seed was planted in her mind it just grew and grew until it was out of control. Any doubt about getting a tattoo was being pushed farther and farther back in her mind. "I've thought about it." She said, unable to suppress an excited grin from her lips. Well, she thought about it just now. That counted, right?

"I thought about mine for a long time," Jory said. "I told my mum I wanted one and we talked about it for a while. I got it when I turned 16, I had drawn out what I wanted and everything." He didn't think anyone should go in not knowing exactly what they wanted, and especially not without thinking about it for a while beforehand.

Verity nodded. "I've thought about it." She said again. She was already thinking of what she wanted to get and was debating on where to put it. She was too distracted in her thoughts and she didn't realize that she finished her ice cream and cone until she tried to take a bite, but couldn't. A sheepish grin found itself on her face. "That was heavenly." She decided. It was just what she needed.

Jory cleaned his spoon completely and finished with a flourish before setting it back int he bowl. "That's putting it lightly. I'm so coming back here." As long as he had money, he would let himself get a treat, be it coming here or going to the candy shop. It would be good, he was doing so much work otherwise, anyway. This would be a good break.

"Oh me too." Verity decided with a nod. The trip and crowded streets were worth it. Besides, she would have to come back soon enough to get her supplies for the upcoming term. "Can you believe it? If I hadn't come to Diagon Alley today, I probably would have never even know about it." It was such a sad thought, to think she would have gone her whole life without ever knowing about the amazing ice cream.
