She kicked a rock by the toe of her shoe reading her fathers letter. It was obviously about her studies and how he knew she had it in her. There was a whole bunch of stuff about how he missed her and how he wants her to prove to everyone that she was a real Ravenclaw.
Celyn rolled her eyes. Looking up from her letter she realized she came to the end of the lake where the forest started and she turned back. She had done this a few times, almost like pacing just with a much longer distance. Celyn should write a letter back, but she wasn't up for it at that particular moment. Maybe it would be best if she wrote her letter during the evening when everyone was asleep in their dorms and she could have the common room all to herself. For the past few weeks, Ravenclaws were sleeping earlier so they could wake up earlier and study all morning before classes. The few that stayed up late usually hung out in the libraries and when they returned they didn't stick around as long as she did in the common room; they always ended up leaving earlier than she did.
Stuffing the letter in her bag, she continued to walk, slowly, but it didn't matter how fast she went; she wasn't going anywhere and once she was close enough to the castle she would just turn back. It was meaningless to speed up with no destination.
