There was nothing better to do, but lay back and look up towards the sky, not thinking, but just being. There were no racing thoughts floating around and all she hear was a gentle buzzing sound which usually meant she was successfully tuning out her own mind.
Turning over to her side, she pressed a hand gently to her sketch pad and propped herself up on her elbows. Celyn proceeded to skip through her sketchbook, pausing at some drawings that stood out to her while rolling her eyes at the few she could not finish.
It was rare, but there were times when she felt like her art looked more beautiful incomplete. The young man strewn across her page lacked facial features and had a well shaded body with draping flowing gently around his body covering him up. There ends of his legs faded out while his hands were strewn on his chest and abdomen.
Placing it back down on the grass, she laid back down and began dozing off.... not.... thinking... at.... Falling asleep this late at night on the school lawns was crazy, yet where she was it would be impossible for anyone to see her. Stowed away in a corner all to herself, her sleeping form was just there.
How long had it been? A few hours, but Celyn still felt like she was asleep. She could hear movements, but it didn't register that this was real, she still believed herself to be asleep.

Verity had never been to the lawns. Not really, anyways. She had passed it a couple of times, but it was sift and she never stopped, looked around, took it in, or really ever saw it. She was always in a rush and she always kept her eyes fixed straight ahead of her. Today was different. Classes were over, the shop wouldn't need to open for a couple of hours, and her workload was surprisingly light.
Verity strolled down to the lawns, this time because she wanted to check it out. Her eyes swept over the place, although she couldn't as much as she wanted to due to the late time of day. Her eyes did, however, catch on a lump lying on the ground. Confused, Verity would have just let it be if she didn't recognize the lump by its hair. Panic gripped her as she imagined something bad had happened. Verity rushed over to the lump and knelt down.
"Celyn?" She called anxiously. Hardly waiting for a response, Verity poked Celyn's side. "Hello? Are you okay?" She asked again. Oh god, she hoped she woke up.

The footsteps were quickly approaching her and Celyn was alert. The person knelt down and Celyn didn't even listen to the person. Her wand was out of her side pocket and held right at the person. It wasn't until she realized the person was Verity did she let her hand drop to her side.
Celyn rubbed at her eyes and half sighed half yawned and awkward sound. "Crap, do you always greet people like that?" her voice was low. It hadn't registered where they were and after looking around tiredly did she finally realize what it was that made Verity run like that. "Gimme a sec." she paused, closed her eyes, took a deep breath and met Verity's eyes once more. Sitting up, she licked her lips and rubbed at her temple, looking up at the dark sky. How long had she been asleep? No matter how much she thought, she was sure it couldn't have been that long. "How's it g-going Verity." her voice cracked, she was so tired that someone might confuse her as drunk and while she wanted to explain, she couldn't bring herself to do so.[/blockquote]

Verity stared at the wand with wide, cautious eyes. Verity's wandwork wasn't up to par when it came to the defenses, and she knew she wouldn't be able to defend herself quickly enough with any hex, curse, or charm that came flying her way. Quickly enough, it was gone and her shoulders lowered with relief.
Crap, do you always greet people like that? "I thought you were--" Verity stopped midsentence. She couldn't bring herself to say what she was thinking. Unconscious? Dead? It seemed ridiculous now. "Whatever, it's not important." She said waving it away.
Verity pushed herself back as she gave Celyn a sec. It gave her time to take in the sight around her. How could she not have realized this place existed? It was peaceful, beautiful, far less busy than the Lake.
Verity tilted her head to the side when Celyn spoke. "It's going fine." She said, keeping a suspicious eye on Celyn. Her eyebrows shot up. It made sense: passed out on the Lawn, the strange way she was speaking, being over-defensive. "Celyn...are you drunk?" Verity asked flat out.

Celyn pushed herself up, stumbling as she stood up. She placed a hand on the wall nearest her to balance herself. Whatever Verity thought was unimportant at that moment, Celyn was slowly starting to wake up, mentally at least. Her body on the other hand felt sluggish and she could just barely compose herself.
The suspicious look Celyn was getting made Celyn more confused. Why was Verity staring at her like that? Celyn's hand moved up to her face. Was she disfigured as she sleep? Did some psychopath sneak up on her and painted some weird symbol? The question that followed threw Celyn off guard. "Wha?" she didn't even finish, but her brain furiously tried to get her body working, and only failed. Now her answer was only going to confirm Verity's suspicions which were way off.
"I'm not drunk." she waved Verity off with her hand. "I don't drink!" her brain was screaming at her to shut up until it and her body were working together. Her father always told her that those under the influence were always denying such claims. Celyn breathed deeply, refusing to speak anymore.

Verity watched Celyn for a moment before responding. It certainly looked like she could have been drunk, or at least hungover, but Verity didn't press her about it. Instead, she shrugged. "That's a shame." She said, a wicked grin spreading across her face. "It looks like it might do you some good." She teased. Verity waited for Celyn to compose herself. Her hand swept over the soft grass, catching on a few blades and accidentally pulling them up with her hand. She flicked the blades of grass off of her hand.

Celyn ran her hand through her hair, pushing her hair back only for her hair to fall back into place. "Would it? Talking from experience?" Celyn tried to muster a teasing smirk, but it faltered and now she looked more like she was grimacing. "What time is it?" she stretched, but stumbled to the side, catching herself once more with the wall. "My head hurts." she groaned, it felt sore at one spot on the back of her head and she wasn't sure what it was. Probably rolled onto a rock or something.

Verity feigned innocence. "I have no idea what you're talking about." She said nonchalantly. Some nights after working long hours, she would sit down and pour herself a little Firewhisky, but not enough to get her drunk...just a little buzzed. She observed. "It's some time in the evening." Verity hardly ever knew the exact time. She looked her over and laughed a little at how ridiculous she looked. "My goodness, you look awful. What happened?"

Celyn scoffed. "Sure you don't." she teased lightly. Celyn knelt down and gathered her things picking up her sketchbook and lazily clutching it in one arm. "Thank you for making an obvious observation." she was sure Verity wouldn't be offended; she was tough and a small statement like that wouldn't hurt. Besides, the teasing grin made it obvious that she wasn't trying to be offensive. "So what are you doing out this late." her eyes scanned the grounds, she didn't want to be given detention for being out late that would be such a drag.[/blockquote]

Verity smiled and stuck her tongue out at Celyn teasingly. It was something she would expect a five year old to do, but it was all in good fun. "That's a really good question." Verity said as she took a moment to think of why exactly she was out there. She left a girl she hired, only a few years older than herself and far too qualified, to run the shop for the night. It's the first night the girl is running it on her own and Verity was expecting to get news that some disaster had occurred and she was desperately needed. She hoped it would be ok, though. She was warming up to the shop and she really didn't know how to fix a disaster.
Verity concluded that there really was no good reason that she was out there with a shrug. "I've never been out here, really. It's nice." She observed.

Celyn had been here a few times, but was never here during the day. It was too crowded with students playing around and talking loudly. She looked around, it was beautiful out here especially when there was barely anyone around. "I guess that happens. The best places are always taken over by hooligans and irritating children who talk loudly." she shrugged slightly feeling much better. "I don't blame you for not coming here." when she did come, it was those rare days where it was quiet and there was no one around. A very rare occurrence.

"Well, running the Three Broomsticks, or attempting to do so, is proving to be harder than I thought. It takes up most of my time now." Verity said. Her voice was apologetic. It was a pathetic excuse, but it was the only reason she hadn't seen Celyn since their shopping spree. Verity poked Celyn's side. "What have you been up to?" She asked with a smile.

Celyn had heard that the Three Broomsticks was taken over and that it was Verity who had become the new owner, but she never really talked about it with Verity. "How's that coming along? Being in charge of your own pla..." she was poked and Celyn clutched her side. Her grin was quite goofy she was ticklish at her sides, but it was good to play along. "...place." she finished this time she stuck her tongue out at Verity.
Celyn was about to respond to Verity's question with a 'nothing much' but since they were in a good mood... "Oh you know the usual. Flirting, stealing girls boyfriends, charming a few professors," she raised a brow trying to smirk, but it faltered. "Just kidding."

"Surprisingly, it's still coming. I thought customers would have given up on me a long time ago." Verity said. She certainly hadn't expected business to be this successful. She's still expecting it to fail at some point, but it's hardly as much of a concern to her as it had been in the beginning. Verity's eyebrows voice and her eyes widened with interest as Celyn listed the things off. Then the brows lowered and the eyes narrowed at the 'Just kidding.' "You got me all excited, too." Verity said doing her best to give a disappointed puppy dog face.

Celyn had no idea how to run a place. She'd be the worst employee. Probably would end up falling asleep, pissing someone off or doing something so ridiculous it would destroy the employers image.
Celyn smirked at Verity's look. "Well think of it as this. If I did flirt with a professor and steal boyfriends I would end up in a fight, then sent to the Headmistress who would figure out about my flirting and then I'd be kicked out and you wouldn't have me around." she nodded her head to herself as if her explanation was set in stone. There was no way around it and there was no logic far greater than that. "Aren't you thankful I didn't do all those things now?" she teased.
