Name: Echo Mordred Antipathy
Year you wish to be in: 5th
Description: Thick dark hair, has two different colored eyes, one blue and one green.
Personality: He has a winning smile and on the surface is friendly, caring, and eager to please. He will help others and likes to have a broad web of friends and acquaintances. However, below the surface his actions are all selfish. He cares nothing for the feelings or well-being of others beyond how they might be able to assist him, whether in the present or the distant future. He sees humanity as a mindless species, no more intelligent than any other animal, and with no more purpose to their lives. He himself is very intelligent and looks upon things with logic, concerned only with things which might bring him some distant pleasure. He has a distant interest in emotions, but sees most of them as false, believing them to be nothing more than physical reactions misinterpreted to be mental. He has found few instances of completely pure emotion, but is, again, distantly interested in those moments of human perfection.
He has a natural talent for music in several forms, though he finds them imperfect and pointless. His preference is singing, and his voice has been trained from the earliest age. As a child, his voice was a high, clear soprano. As he ages it has lowered to a tenor.
Background: He comes from a long line of British Purebloods. His mother was the only daughter of one of the Old Families, but due to his now-deceased grandfather's debts his mother was married off to a wealthy merchant. His father, still young at the time, reveled in his entrance to society, but was seen as new money, despite the estate he now controlled.
His parents had little time to spare for him, busy with their own pleasures, and his raising was left to tutors and nannies, few of whom retained their positions long. They acknowledged that he was frighteningly intelligent, but claimed that he was a demon child and would leave in a huff with little to no notice.
At the age of six, many of his tutors were teaching him school-age materials, things usually learned in first year. He had little interest in such things, but his parents paraded him as proof of their worth before leaving on holidays or on dubious business trips. He was well aware that his parents were not faithful to one another, and they accepted it, often using their physical attributes to convince others to bend to their will.
He was disciplined harshly for his transgressions, but cared little either way. The sting of a hand or a litany of harsh words rarely affected him. Still, he learned that things went smoother when he put on a cheerful face and ostentatiously conformed.
His parents decided this year that he was old enough to dismiss to Hogwarts. His accomplishments were no longer surprising and so they decided to be rid of him and his tutors, clearing more time for themselves and their social networking. He believes that life is pointless anyway, so the change is no great shock of disappointment.
