Meeting up again (Zilly/Jory)

Zilnafa caught the redness of Jory's ear and assumed something else happened. She really wanted to push it and since it involved someone who made Jory smile she decided that it could only hurt a little. Besides it seemed a lot like Romeo and Juilet not the whole dying thing but the unlikilyness of the meeting and the sweetness of the story.

"And what happened then?"

Jory shook his head, even as he tried to think of an answer that would settle Zilly's curiosity without telling her they had done it up against a tree. "Nothing, we talked for a few minutes and I told him who I was, he didn't freak out when I told him I was out, and then he said he was gay, too. Well, bi, he likes girls, too. He wrapped his arms around me and we talked...then he kissed me..." Then they had gotten so carried away, on their first meeting.

Zilnafa was so excited for Jory. She hadn't had her first kiss and while she was interested in having a boyfriend she wasn't really going to be desperate about it. She was thrilled for Jory. It seemed her was finally getting what he deserved. Happiness.

She laughed. "Thats so awesome for you guys. I'm so glad for you."

Jory smiled brightly at Zilly and just barely managed stopped himself from continuing on or falling into silent thoughts of Jamie. "So what have you been up to?" he asked, then took another drink from his bottle. He wanted to turn the conversation away from him before he accidentally outed Jamie by using his name.

Zilnafa could sense Jory wanted to close the topic. And though she wanted to know just about everything about the mystery man so she could identify him later in the hall way, she decided she'd pry later. It would easier to get more info as Jory spent more time with him.

"Oh nothing really." Zilnafa shrugged. "I've been having a hard time keeping up in classes but I did make two new friends. Thats a grand total of three. Yay!"

"That's good," Jory said, smiling. "I wish we'd been able to get together, though." It would have been so nice to have someone to talk to when things had been so bad, but Zilly was a fifth year, and he remembered how busy he had been with his own O.W.L.s, so he guessed he couldn't blame her. Still, it would have helped to have her.

Zilnafa winced at Jory's comment. She'd tried to contact him, tried to pencil him in during her study schedule but every class no matter how late she'd been stay up seemed to have something more to study. She'd spent a three night already in the library, and skipped dinner four. her entire search for her family had been put on hold for O.W.L's. And they were killing her.

Plus though she didn't like to admit it to herself much less anyone else she' been bullied for being Jory's friend and though she wouldn't mind suffering it again, she wasn't sure she could handle it until after O.W.Ls.

"Aww Jory I did miss you." She sighed. "But O.W.Ls and I'm from Africa and the whole bad mentor thing and these are all terrible excuses. I should have owled you."

"It's okay," Jory said, shaking his head. He wouldn't have said it before, but now he was just glad they had met up again. "Don't worry about it, it was hard, but I got through it and you're here now." He finished out more upbeat than he truly felt about it all, but he couldn't bring himself to hold anything against her, not with how good a week he had had already.

Zilnafa still felt bad. She had missed Jory and she certainly wasn't a good friend for not being there in a time when he really needed her. A good friend should be there through thick and thin, through laughter and
tears. Zilnafa frowned.

"Yeah but its not okay you know? I shoulda been there."

Jory shrugged and looked down at his hands. "Last week...I would have been mad," he said carefully. "But...I was feeling bad. I had a good week....I've talked to people that said something besides hey queer, learn where it goes or there's something wrong with you. It's been nice, and seeing you makes it even better."

[Zilnafa]

Zilnafa felt anger burn in the pit of her stomach. People had actually said those things to Jory? She would kill them. Absolutly undoubtably murder them all in there beds. She may have not been a good friend earlier but now would be the greatest time to fix that.

"Who said that to you?" She asked eyes narrowed jaw clenched.

Jory shook his head, he didn't want Zilly getting involved. She didn't need to end up on the wrong end of any of it. "Too many for you to do anything about," he said. Still, he had to admit that it felt good to have someone willing to stand up for him. "It hurts, but I don't want you to go off and do anything. I don't want, like, you making enemies or something."

Zilnafa snorted then realized how unattractive that sounded. She blushed. Obviously Jory didn't know many Slytherins very well. Heck she'd only talked with one other Slytherin and that was before she knew how incredibly unpopular Zilnafa was. Slytherins were all enemies.

"Don't worry about it." Zilnafa waved a hand dismissing his comment. "Everyone has enemies. Its a part of the whole life thing. Its why humans still have the flight or fight reaction."

Jory shrugged and shook his head again. "Still. I'll be okay," he said. Especially now that he had Zilly back and eh had Jamie, and maybe he would be able to make up with Markise and that would work out, too. It would be great to be able to work out a little group, even if Jamie wasn't involved in the beginning. He hoped that Jamie would be willing to meet up with people eventually and they could all be friends.

Zilnafa still worried that maybe Jory needed some friend who he didn't have a history with. Not anyone he'd told her about before. But someone fresh he could start over with. Like the mystery man he was suddenly dating.

"So how are things in the Gryffindor world?"
