Zilly stopped laughing, had Lily done something wrong or stupid? Usually laughing was contagious but maybe not this time. She tried to keep a straight face and not offend her but somehow a smile curved on her lips anyway.

Zilnafa liked Lily's smile. And she knew she'd sort of made the girl uncomfortable when she'd stopped laughing. Maybe she ought to explain.

Zilnafa sent Lily a crooked smile. "Nice to know it isn't just me."
And suddenly they were out of thing to talk about. Zilnafa cast about in her mind for something. Not family, Zilnafa didn't have that. Not previous magical training, she didn't have that either but maybe they could talk about classes.
"What classes are you taking?"

Lily smiled. She really liked Zilly, she was just, so down to Earth.
"Classes? What classes? I don't really know, I haven't been going to many lately. But i think i'm enrolled in charms, and transfiguration. What about you?"

Zilnafa was confused. It was required to take all the classes. Potions, transfiguration, Defense against the dark arts, history of magic and charms. Then you got to add to your studies with classes like care of magical creature, muggle studies, divination, and the like. Lily was by requirement forced to take all those classes until she was in sixth year.
"Um they're going to kick you out." Zilnafa warned trying to be helpful.

"Free period." Zilnafa shrugged. "You get them if you ask. And Headmistress Hells thought I'd need one to catch up on my learning."
Truthfully, Zilnafa needed about six to keep up. There were so many classes and so much homework. She was in classes way to hard for her and it was purely her pride that kept her driven to try to continue in them.

Zilnafa grinned crookedly. It was a good question. Zilnafa did have trouble focusing during her free periods. She should be studying instead of collecting chocolate for Jory.
She shrugged at Lily. "I'm a Slytherin. It's a natural drive to be the best and studying is the best way."

Secretly Zilnafa agreed. Gryffindors were silly but she didn't really want to say that out loud. They had no drive no will to actually do anything. Besides prove they're loyal. Which wasn't all that great in Zilnafa's opinion.
"Gryffindors are brave." Zilnafa offered instead.

Lily agreed with Zilly, Zilly was quick to observe such things. "I'm not brave." Lily said. "I'm anything but."
