The weather had cleared up enough that Lyric didn't have to hide in the castle when he was here anymore. As much privacy as the empty classrooms and unused corridors had been, they were stifling. He didn't even want to be here, much less trapped between stone walls, with stone floors and ceilings sealing him in. If he wanted to be locked in an unforgiving tomb, he'd find a graveyard. Or kill himself.
No one hung out behind the broom shed. It was practically an extension of under the stands, the main difference being that one was used for the kinds of vices he typically indulged in, and the other was used for casual liaisons between guys and overly-friendly girls.
It was a perfect place to hide out, to keep to himself. He was still tense, still felt like he might break at any second, but here, he stood a chance of calming down enough to feel safe with himself. No one would bother him here.

"Spiderwebs," Xander told his brother as they walked across the pitch. "Poisonous?" he asked as they walked around to the back of the broom shed.

Xavier stopped and looked at the kid. "Only if it's a girl," he said. It was pretty whatever it was.

Lyric had heard people coming and snuffed out his cigarette. He didn't care who it was, it was broad daylight and he still had enough presence of mind to hide his vices. Sometimes. He knew he was getting careless, but didn't figure it really mattered. He was really only buying himself time before his mom found out anyway. Then he'd be off home again, and probably get a run through rehab. Of course, they couldn't save you if you didn't want to be saved.
He wasn't listening to whatever the guys said. His goal was to walk away, not to have a conversation. He picked up his duffel bag and gave one of them a firm glare. He noticed they were twins, but it didn't register as any more important than what he'd eaten yesterday. His shoulder knocked against one as he passed.

Xander didn't like being bumped, and he glared back. "What's your problem?" he asked. "We didn't do anything to you."

"Where are you going?" Xavier asked. He reached out and grabbed the boy or girl's arm. "Stay and talk to us."

Everything in Lyric reacted to that unwanted touch, and his body seized in the split second before he tore out of the guy's grasp. His adrenaline had spiked, but he felt sick, felt livid. "Don't f~ing touch me!" he shouted. He wasn't quite ready to walk away anymore, especially with the chance that they'd just follow him, but he wouldn't throw a punch unless he had to. He'd avoid physical contact any way he could. Right now, that meant pulling his wand. "Leave me the f~ alone," he said dangerously.

Xander laughed. This boy or girl was an easier mark than they'd thought. "We just want to talk to you," he said.

"What happened to your hair? Hit by lightning?" Xavier asked. He wanted to touch it, so he did. He wasn't afraid of a wand.

How stupid were they? He had his wand out and could hex them both, and they hadn't even noticed! That thought was cut short by the creeping feeling of a hand in his hair. The one guy was touching him again. He felt so sick, so disgusting, but he refused to show it beyond jerking away again. And he refused to give them the satisfaction of going on the defensive. he'd dealt with jerks like them before.
"What happened to your nose?" he asked the one that kept touching him. "Hit by an erumpent?" The momentary contact of his fist to the guy's face would be worth the satisfaction of feeling it shatter. Plus, he loved the moment of confusion that usually preceded that shattering.

Real men dont duck punches so Xavier took it like a man. His nose was bleeding. "Your crazy!"

Lyric wasn't stupid, and his already-drawn wand had been well prepared for the likelihood of an attack from the twin he'd bumped into. His shield blocked the falling spell, and he turned to aim another thorough punch at the one it had come from. He could take a punch, but falling on your face was a mistake that could cost you the fight. With his punch thrown, Lyric turned to walk away.

"You never told us if you're a girl or not!" Xavier said. He used his wand to fix his nose, then started to follow the boygirl.
