Jasmine had left school earlier than most of the students in order to spend Hanukkah with her family back home. It had meant a lot of make up work followed by spending the other holidays back at the castle where so many people had left, but nevertheless she was on her way back. Placed on her lap were the worksheets she had to do for her classes, to her right was the assignment for a paper and to the left were the things she had finished. This long boring train ride was proving to be very productive for her.
After finishing up her second to last worksheet, Jasmine took a break. Looking out of the compartment window she saw the beautiful landscape going by and the familiar outline of the castle far away. She sighed and looked down at her lap and folded her hands neatly there. A sparkly ring caught her eye and she lifted her hand to catch the light from outside. This Sapphire ring had been one of her eight gifts this year and she loved it. In the stone there was a faint outline of her and her parents laughing. Engraved in the inside of the ring were the words of love. She smiled and put her hand back down, those nights sure went by fast!
