Melody yawned, she had stayed up extremely late the previous night finishing up a paper (or three) to turn in before the break officially started. She had been behind for quite a while in a few classes, but as of now everything that needed to be turned in was in. She yawned again, that had meant getting up very early after a night of little sleep so here she was in kitchen looking for left over breakfast food or early lunch.
It was a great thing that the winter break had finally come, she thought as she eyed a banana nut muffin being carried away. The weather was getting a lot colder and she was finally able to wear her warm, long coats and colorful scarves. It seemed that when it first started, it would seem like an awfully long winter if the break didn't get here soon. But, it came!
Melody caught sight of the same elf and muffin. Politely she asked for it and soon broke off a warm sweet taste of the food and ate it. Her thoughts still on winter, she slowly ate her muffin. Then yawned again. Maybe she would take a nap later....or go to bed early.
