Quinn nervously twirled a few strands of hair around her finger, "I can be quiet....let you finish your work." I just don't want to be alone, she thought to herself. It just seemed like she was drowning in a world that didn't understand her, when it was more likely that she didn't understand it. She wanted to reach out, wanted to be part of the world that her sister had held so dearly, but no one but Markise seemed to bite, and Markise hadn't been around in a while.

Silver had already put his things away and wasn't at all tempted to sit back down so she could watch him do his homework. He didn't want company, quiet or otherwise, and right now, she was at the top of his list of company he especially didn't want. If his temper was more easily roused than usual, he wasn't aware of it, only of the strong desire to escape to someplace he could be alone.
Silver shook his head, though his gaze stayed on the frozen ground as he pushed to his feet. "I needed to go anyway," he muttered. He was no good at body language, but even if he had been, even if she'd made her need for human company starkly obvious, it wouldn't have stopped him from trying to walk away. If she'd wanted to be around people, she'd come to the wrong place.

Quinn stared at the boy, "I...I'm sorry if I interrupted, I just..." she'd already said that she'd just wanted someone to talk to. What good did it do her anyways, trying to talk to anyone. She let her hair slide into her face so that he couldn't see the sheen of tears building up in her eyes. She would not be weak in front of anyone. "I'll....I'll go. Sorry."
Quinn turned away from the tree and twined a few fingers into her hair as she walked haltingly away. What had this been worth coming to school anyways. She didn't have what she needed to make friends, let alone get someone who looked nice to talk to her. She could swear she'd met him before, outside of classes, or in them sometime, but she couldn't quite place him.

Silver echoed Quinn's sorry, but he was already on his way back to the school, shoulders hunched. He felt bad for leaving, even if he had no desire for her company and no clue that she was taking his leaving as a personal slight. He had a week's worth of school work to catch up on, and of all the people who could have interrupted with stammering apologies for existing, it had to be her.
