If not for the fact that Melody forgot her book bag in one of her classes, then on the way back out dropped her quill, she may have never noticed the abandoned Daily Prophet left abandoned in the hallways. As she bent down to retrieve her quill, she happened to catch site of the paper and also reached out to grab it. Now, gossip had never really been her type of thing, but lately when all she could think about was the stress of school, she found herself fascinated by the latest stories.
Her eyes scanned across the pages as she walked through the corridor. Student left, non wedding was a hit, dinner party was bad, new couple in Green House.....wait, what?! Melody went back up to that and reread the line. It may have been one simple statement, but it caused Melody's cheeks to turn bright pink. It wasn't that she was embarrassed that it happened, but did the Prophet really have the need to print that?
Immediately after those thoughts, her mind went to Connor. What did he think about this? Which led to her wondering where he even was! She hadn't seen him since the date, and realized that she missed him. Where could be? As Melody thought, she started walking again, her eyes still fixed onto the paper.
