Lalita nodded, "Ah, hence why it is you looking for the studio." She paused for a moment as a small gust of wind blew her hair out of place. She ran a hand through her hair, settling it, as she thought of what else to say. Sometime between now and when they split she would like to give him the idea of her sitting for him and hopefully know a little more about Michael. Well, she had plenty of time.

Dare nodded again. "I've got a small studio at home, and a ceramics room and everything, but it's nothing I could bring like, clients to come look at." He stopped himself and shrugged lightly. "I don't know, how do models get clients?" he asked, looking aside at Lalita again. That was something he knew nothing about. Maybe they just wandered around looking attractive until someone hired them.

"So would you use this new studio as a workshop to sketch in or just as a place to display everything?" Lalita found that after all this talk, she actually wanted to see what he drew and created. It gave her insentive, well more insentive, to come back. "And basically my agent takes care of getting me clients. I don't really know the exact process beyond that." She shrugged. Her agent was always looking out for her best interests ,but it got annoying! It was a good thing the agent was hot or else Lalita would have fired her the first time she got her hand slapped while reaching for a small dessert.

Dare made a noncommittal sound at the mention of an agent. He didn't think that would work for him even if they had the money for one. As for Lalita's question... "I haven't thought much about it," Dare admitted. "I was really just looking for someplace to show my work, since I can make it at home."

"That works. I'm trying to find a place to either model for pictures or pose for portraits I have no idea why my agent moved me over here. This is the only studio of any sort I've seen." Of coure, she hadn't really been looking. That could also be part of the problem. If this place didn't work out, she'd really have to kick up the pace unless she wanted to move before the term even started!

Dare looked aside at Lalita. "Do you like, charge much for that? Modeling, I mean?" It still hadn't entirely clicked for Dare that Lalita might pose for him, but he was interested in what she had to say. Was she hoping to pose for something the photography shop would sell? Did she need portraits for a portfolio or something?

"It really depends on the things," Lalita said thoughtfully, "Like, if I posed for a picture I would get a fixed rate then perhaps a little of the earnings. All of which, of course, would be discussed prior to anything and a bargain be made. And if not that at all, I might be hoping to just get my name out." It all seemed reasonable in her mind, but everything was subject to change.

"That makes sense," Dare said. His thoughts turned to fixed rates now. For all the times he'd thought about selling his work, he'd never once thought about how much to charge. Of course, the only time he'd ever delved into professional art, he'd taken payment in portrait rights. And he'd gotten a couple amazing portfolio pieces out of it.

"Yes," Lalita agreed, "And for you, will you be selling the art as is or will commissions be an option?" From the scenery of the school, she would bet that he had a painting of everything somewhere therefore a commissioned painting would be rarer, but nevertheless she needed to know. She couldn't help but to think that this new shop came at a very coincidental time! She wasn't complaining though, it was perfect!

"A little of both," Dare said, pulling himself back to the conversation. "I don't have much I could sell yet, so more commissions at first. The work I've already done was commissioned. I was interested in the subjects, though. I really liked having a project to work on, but I couldn't live on commissions. I'd need to do my own thing to keep sane." He didn't know if she could get that, since he was pretty sure models only did commissions, but he hoped he made sense.

Lalita nodded, "I can see how you think that. It makes sense too. I am looking foreword to seeing more of your work. Maybe if you're good enough I'll buy something," Lalita teased. Of course she wouldn't actually buy anything, but she needed their trust for this to work. Just the idea that she would but something would hopefully set her in a good light. She clicked easily with Dare though, she was positive she would befriend him fully soon enough anyway. Then things would really get rolling.

"You haven't seen any of my work," Dare said, arching a brow at Lalita. He didn't hide his work, but he remembered who he showed it to, and the two pieces that had been commissioned were in private collections. And he knew neither of them would ever be shown.

"Oh yeah," Lalita said fighting a laugh. She had gotten carried away in her words. "True. But I guess that just means I have to see some of your stuff so that last statment may be true one day." As her smile grew slowly, she shrugged and looked away. More of his work? She had been thinking ahead too much. She made a note to slow down the pace of her thoughts, with any luck no more of these embarrassing moments would happen.

Dare let it go, taking Lalita at her words. "If I get anything shown in the art shop, you can see it there," he said. He couldn't imagine she was that interested in his art sight unseen, although... "If you really do want to buy something, it'd be pretty stupid of me not to show you anyway. So if you're interested, just let me know."

Lalita shrugged, "I'm sure you'll get it in the shop in no time. I'll see it all then." She ended up wondering who it was that owned this shop anyway. All she really needed out of this place was an area to get her name out. Maybe business cards here and there for people to look at. She couldn't help but to only think of ways this place could benefit her. In all, she discovered that she didn't really care if Dare sold anything, nor did she care if other people used the studio. She needed this for her career and for the plan. Now she just had to keep on that thinking track.
