The heel of Holly's boot clicked onto the stone flooring of the great entrance hall of Hogwarts. The candles flickered casting shadows upon the floor as sounds emerged from the dining hall. Over the past year, the Ravenclaw had grown a bit taller and fit more into her maturing body. The drama that had happened at her previous schools had let her dwelve into the mysterious art of home schooling. Her cooped up life style had made her a little more wild, sneaking out any chance she got. The old Holly Brown was dead and not returning. Finally after her time spent at home, she was coming back to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She wondered if any of the students she had befriended were still there. She cast her dark brown eyes across the hall searching for another student. So far there were none.

Lalita, having come back from a quick snack, took a wrong turn and ended up in the Entrance Hall. Last she had been here had been her first day, seeming so long ago and yet only a weeks time. She scanned the room and saw a fairly attractive girl walking in. She was still low on friends, and high in confidence so with a broad smile, Lalita went over to the girl. "Hello there," she said sweetly.

Holly snapped her eyes to the new girl and blinked suprisingly. "Hello," she said shortly, not stopping to eye the other person up and down. She seemed a little different, possibly off? The Ravenclaw couldn't put her finger on it but there was definetely something. The dining hall seemed to be emptying out as though dinner had just passed.

With the short, and rather rude greeting, Lalita raised an eyebrow. "Normally when a person greets another, it's expected that they at least introduce themselves," Lalita said with a sharp tone. Even if this girl was going to be a snob, and snuff her off, she at least better get a name! People these days! Sheesh. Lalita crossed her arms and waited for a response.

Holly sighed stretching out her hand. "I am Holly Brown. Fifth year Ravenclaw." It wasn't that she didn't want to be polite or anything, she was just tired from her trip and not exactly happy to be back at Hogwarts. Even though home schooling wasn't her favorite, she still didn't like public school.

Lalita shook her hand, "Nice to meet you Holly. I am Lalita Harshini, seventh year Slytherin." She smiled just a little, barely noticable, for her small victory in getting an introduction. Although saying her house wasn't her favorite way, she could have skipped that part, but it seemed right to say it. Still though, a Slytherin? She vented about the sorting before so she wasn't going to get into it now but it would never feel right saying she was a Slytherin. Whatever, with only one term left it didn't really mattr.

"Slytherin?" Holly raised her eyebrows confused at the kind greeting. As her whole family had been pureblood Slytherin, she was used to their cold and harsh demeanors. Power meant everything to the serpents.

Lalita had the same reaction when she found out herself. She shrugged, "Apparently so. Personally, I'm more of a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw but the sorting hat doesn't lie...or hasn't been caught."

"Interesting," Holly mused. "Are you pureblood?" The quality of blood meant everything to Holly's family. It had resulted in the ends of friendships and some particularly nasty fights. Only recently had her previous arranged engagement been cancelled because of her disappearance. She had run away.

"Yes I am actually," Lalita said wondering why that was one of the most asked questions. Did family history and blood really matter? Oh well. "I assume you are as well since you asked?" She could only assume that a Ravenclaw was pureblood as well. After all, would one who was not be asking that question?

"Yes, I am. You might have heard of my father, Atticus Brown?" Holly's father was well known enough in the ministry of magic. It had taken many years to achieve their social standing but where they were was a reputable position.
