Jewels strolled through the corridors, trying to reWizard where everything was. She had only been gone a year, and reWizarded mostly everything. It was just the small things....
Turning another corner, Jewels finally had to admit that she really didn't know where to go. The past year had been a stressful one and locating her way around a new school hadn't been one of the top priorities. Yupp, she was lost. Crossing her arms, she looked behind her and in front and frowned. Getting lost was never fun!

Dare didn't have anywhere pressing to be at the moment. He'd come to see the Headmistress about the plans he and Michael had come up with for the ceremony, and it hadn't taken nearly as long as he'd thought it would, so he still had time left before work. He had just turned at the end of a corridor when he caught sight of a small, feminine form and stopped, his hands reaching out reflexively to catch her before they impacted.

"Oh! Wow, sorry!" Jewels apologized instintly for almost walking right into......Dare! She would never have forgotten the nice Gryffindor who she had met in the common room many months ago. She wondered if he remembered her....he had done a wonderful sketch of her way back when! "Oh, hey Dare! It's Jewels....you probably don't remember me but uh, I was here a year ago.." She bit her lip in a smile in hopes that he would remember a girl he had spent no more then an hour or two with.

The girl was familiar enough that just her name was enough to spark a memory. He had a mental flash of the ink drawing he'd done, and that tied everything together. Well, what he could remember of it. Dare let go of Jewels and took a step back, giving them both some room. "I thought you transferred," he said. He could have been wrong since he'd never heard of her or her ice skating friend leaving, and he really wasn't at school enough anymore to know if someone was gone or if he just hadn't seen them. Dare wracked his brain for anything he could remember about their conversation in the Common Room.

"Well I did.....but some things changed and I'm back." Jewels did her best to not sound bitter at the reason why she moved. She would have been happy still at MI if the chaos of the year hadn't been quite so bad. Still though, she was here and that was that. She switched her thoughts to Dare. The last time they had talked had been so long ago, she hoped she could remember things besides his insanely amazing artistic ability.

"It's good to have you back," Dare said. It felt like there was more, but it also felt like it was none of his business. He tossed his head lightly, shifting his fringe a bit in the process. "Are any of the others coming back?" He'd spoken to Holly, but he'd heard about a couple more, one who Michael had saved Markise from in a corridor, and another who was apparently schitzophrenic. It had certainly been an interesting time, if a short one.

Thinking back to last year, Jewels could only assume that by "others" Dare was thinking about Holly and Hektor. No one else from MI came if she remembered correctly. "I don't know about Holly......and Hektor... is gone." She needn't say anymore abou the bully that terrorized her and her friends that year ago. He was most likely locked up somewhere and never to return again. Changing the subject, Jewels recrossed her arms and looked up at Dare, "But how have you been? Still drawing?"

Dare's lips quirked slightly. "Not much," he admitted. His left hand rose to rub absently at the back of his neck as he debated his next words. In my opinion, if people don't like specific choices then they don't have to make them! Jewels had said that, he remembered now. "I've been busy. Me and Michael, we're having a Civil Partnership ceremony next Tuesday. You can totally come if you want." The more people that actually supported them, the better it would be.

Jewels took a momet to remember who Michael was before suddenly breaking out in a huge grin. "Congrats! That's great! I'll for sure come." All of a sudden her mind was brimming with questions like what should she wear? She would need a present, right? Would she know anyone? Was this a pity invite? The last one didn't matter though, a party was a party so she would go!

Dare's lips curved into a relieved smile. Even after all this time in relative quiet, he still expected the bad reactions he and Michael had gotten since they'd been outed last October. "The ceremony is going to be down by the edge of the forest at dusk, and the reception'll be in the Great Hall. Headmistress Hells is forgiving curfew that night, so it might end up late." Which was a plus as far as Dare was concerned. Not that he and Michael intended to stay for the whole reception, but it was nice to know everyone wouldn't get kicked out at ten o'clock.

"That's great. You can totally count me in!" This would give her a good excuse to go down into the town and shop! After all, she needed to get them some sort of gift. Having never met Michael, she focused on something dare would like. Of course, she had only really talked to Dare once before. Maybe a cool art kit...or a housewarming item. This would be fun! Jewels's smile stayed put on her face, maybe she came back at the right time after all.
