Chase checked his pocket watch again as he reached the Entrance Hall, then tucked it back into his pocket. His eyes scanned the area, and for some long minutes, he listened carefully for any trace of sound. Dru should be coming soon, and if there was anyone within hearing distance, he'd have to get rid of them. Soon enough, he was satisfied and paced an area of the large room near the castle doors. There would be no slipping past him.

Dru wished she had been able to find Chase sooner, she had yet to thank him for those anonymous flowers. And...maybe she had been taking just a little more care in her appearance just in case she happened to run into him. When she walked into the Entrance Hall after an unusually late night, exhausted, her eyes still lit up when she saw him. She smiled and headed toward him.

Chase's lips only quirked, but his eyes sparked in response. He stopped his pacing and stood, booted feet apart on the stone floor. One last mental check of the area and he tucked his wand away. "Do you have your pass, or am I going to need to reprimand you again?" he asked, the cool words belied by the interest obvious in his eyes. He let those eyes slide down Dru's body, and his own threatened to react.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Firebrand," Dru said, stopping immediately in front of him and clasping her hands behind her. "I believe I left my pass up in my dorm room." Well, if she had a pass she would have left it in the dorm room. Her eyes hovered on Chase's before she let herself take him in as a whole, standing there in such a demanding stance. Her eyes were sparkling by the time they moved back up.

"Maybe I should give you detention," Chase said, his voice lowering intimately. He warmed with the way Dru looked at him, but didn't so much as shift. He intended to wait for her to break. "I won't bother docking points again, since it didn't work last time." Or rather, since they'd arranged to meet, but that didn't need said.

Dru bit her lips and looked off away from Chase for a moment. "Well, I have to say thank you for not docking points, but...if it means a detention..." she trailed off and looked up at him again. "Who would my detention be with? Please tell me it won't be with the potions master," she said.

Chase's lips quirked with humor. "As far as I know, you haven't done anything in Potions," he pointed out. "And since I'm the only one here, it's up to me to discipline you." He finally moved now, taking just a half step toward Dru. "It'll only get worse if you argue," he added softly.

Dru grinned and mirrored Chase's step. "Really? What, are you going to make me polish the trophies or something?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. She had no fear that he was actually going to punish her for anything, she was only interested in the game and in what he had in store for her. Of course, she still had to thank him.

"I have something you can polish," Chase rumbled. His eyes had moved beyond flickering, and crimson flames danced around dark pupils. Yes, he'd just dropped several layers of subtlety, but technically he hadn't said the words, and that was part of the game. He tucked his thumbs into his pockets as he looked down at Dru, knowing the intimidating posture wouldn't fool her, but as long as the challenge went on, he wasn't backing down.

Dru took another step closer to where they were barely a step apart. "Really?" she asked, tilting her head. Her eyes dropped without her consent and she had to fight to bring them up again. Then she brought her arms up, confident that no one would see, and linked them loosely around Chase's neck. "I think I could handle that."

Chase considered that his win, and his lips descended on Dru's as his arms slid around her. It was dangerous, but he had enough control now to easily keep part of his mind on their surroundings. His body wanted, but he could wait. He hadn't visited Carolynn since he'd last seen Dru, and though he knew he'd have to soon, he'd wanted to see if Dru could really handle what she'd offered and agreed to. He didn't need that kind of guilt again.

Dru spread one hand up into Chase's hair and pulled closer to Chase. Her body wanted, as well, and it had gotten a taste the last time they were together of something she hadn't had in a long time, and it was noticibly harder than she remembered it being to keep her thoughts appropriate. Her lips parted, inviting.
