Dahlia's perfectly bowed lips were curved into a smile as she pushed open the door to the joke shop. Her fingers brushed a white-blond curl behind her shoulder as she headed toward the counter, idly scanning the shelves as she went. Not that she was here to buy anything.
No, she'd finally gotten a request for an interview, and just maybe it would work out better this time. Knowing Ryan, it would. Of course, he didn't know her. In the traditional sense. It took effort to keep the smirk from her lips.
"Excuse me, Ryan? Are you in here?" she called. She wondered if he'd even realize she was a professor. With her slight stature, she was often mistaken for a student.

Ryan came out from the back when he heard someone call his name. He looked and saw a woman that he was pretty sure he knew. Ryan nodded and said "Yes, what can I do for you?"

Dahlia put on a sweet smile as she walked toward Ryan, looking up at him. It was really too bad that she had to get his permission to print anything. She would have liked to get her article without the stigma of the Daily Prophet hanging over everything.
"I was hoping I could talk to you," she said first. "I'm from the Daily Prophet and we've had some requests for me to interview you. You've been at Hogwarts so long, after all." And so he'd been involved in everything from the Wagner twins to Vannah and Emilian. She couldn't imagine it would take much to write a great article if he'd just talk. Unlike the last person she'd interviewed.

Ryan looked at her with almost a scowl on his face "I will talk if you decide to print the truth about me, rather than all the damn lies that turn up in there." Ryan thought to all the times his name had turned up in the Prophet had wrote about him, and either it had been a straight up lie, or a very small part was true, and the rest was spun into whatever story they wanted it to be.

Dahlia's eyes widened innocently. "I don't print lies," she said firmly. "If you'll actually talk to me, it'll make it easier on both of us," she said. "Interviews are different from a little gossip column, and I haven't printed a single lie in any of my interviews." If Emilian's article had made him look bad, it was only because he was. Every word she'd quoted, he'd said. Not to mention how horrible he'd been to her after. And there was nothing she could do with Vannah's. It had frustrated her for the longest time before she'd finally sent it to print. The girl had given her next to nothing to work with.

Ryan looked at her "Ok, but I am going to start off by saying I am not going to answer any questions about Vannah. Other than that, ask away."

Dahlia's lips parted at that. "Why wouldn't you answer questions about her? I'm sorry to tell you this, but no one wants to read about what teams you support; that's what your column is for. People want to know what makes you tick, and they want to know about Vannah. She hardly said a word, and if you won't fill in the blanks, people won't be interested." Dahlia gave a genuine pout of disappointment. She supposed she could try to get hold of that Logan guy, but she'd been so set on Ryan...

Ryan looked at her and thought for a moment "Just ask your questions. I will decide if I want to answer them or not." he said, not knowing if he really wanted to do this.
