Markise looked properly guilty at that, and one hand rose to push a white-blond curl back from his face. "I had to, Anna. I mean, how many guys have you ever met named Markise? I'm not taking any chances the Daily Prophet might find out." And so he was someone else on Friday nights. He realized she'd just been teasing him, but he thought that maybe if she knew why, it would be easier.
"That's why they don't know much about me. I'm probably the only American in the club and I can't hide that so they know I'm from New York, but we pretty much skip over personal stuff. We're all here to have fun and get away." And that meant leaving the past at the doors.

Anna's smile turned genuine as she listened to Markise talk. "Don't worry Markise, you're secrets are safe with me. I'll shy away from the personal questions. I'll be fine, really." She only hoped that she could live up to all that and not disappoint Markise. She reached up on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek to send him off, creating a show for the others in an attempt to avoid questions about what there were saying. After she rocked back on her heels she spoke louder so the others could hear. "Try not to have too much fun without me Angel."

Markise rolled his eyes, but his lips curved all the same. "I'll try," he promised, then lowered his voice. "Don't go off with anyone but the guys. Not everyone's as nice as they are," he said. He didn't care if he scared her when it came to wandering off. Anna was more than a little naive and very trusting, and if anything happened to her, he'd never forgive himself.
When he finally let her go, or rather let himself go, Robbie was right after him, both hands sliding against his waist, then down until Markise caught them and pushed them off. When he was sure they wouldn't be overheard, he said, "You can wait til we're on the floor. I'll make it worth it, I promise." He gave Robbie a look from under his lashes and got a smile in return that made his blood warm. He was so ready to just let go!

Anna watched them leave for a moment before settling back down with the other guys. She commented on one of their hairstyles, which prompted a discussion about hair and clothes. She listened with amusement, not really having anything to contribute, but enjoying watching them interact. Every now and then they would throw out words or phrases that completely lost her. She tried to store them all in her memory along with fruitfly and f*g hag. After a bit, one of the guys left to get refills on the drinks, leaving before he collected any money.

Markise had intended to get as deep into the crowd as possible before letting Robbie get away with anything, but a glance over his shoulder showed him that Anna was being entertained. He decided they were in deep enough, not at the edge of the crowd, and that would have to be enough. Robbie's hands were driving him crazy!
Markise turned toward Robbie, stretching his arms up and shifting his hips with the music. Robbie must have been waiting for exactly that, because his own hands immediately slid down and back. Markise's lips curved as they moved, and before long he'd closed his eyes and given himself over. He arched and swayed, more or less giving Robbie free reign, since their time would be so short tonight.

When the guy came back with the drinks, he sat down where Robbie had been, enclosing her in the group. The glasses were passed around, Anna still holding on to her water. She inquired about the contents of the various colored glasses and the conversation turned to their drinks. Never having had anything more than wine or an occasional glass of champagne, Anna was intrigued and it showed in her eyes.
When the conversation changed again, she found herself glancing around and watching everything going on. She caught a glimpse of Markise's hair on the dance floor and it drew her attention. She couldn't help her wide-eyed stare as she watched the couple together. Her blush immediately returned and she wasn't even aware that the others had started watching her with interest.

Markise's mind was lost to the music and his body was lost to sensation. There was the motion of course, the purposeful movements of his body with and against Robbie's, the growing heat of his muscles and the crowd, and the teasing pleasure that was Robbie. Those teasing hands settled low against Markise's back and he arched backwards, letting Robbie's hands and the press of their lower bodies hold him up. One hand sank into his hair as the other sought just that much more balance against Robbie's shoulders. He shivered at the moist heat of Robbie's breath at his throat.
"You all right there, Anna?" One of the guys asked. A couple of the others tried to follow her gaze, but none of them could figure out what had affected her like that.

Anna blinked, turning to the sound of her name. She realized they were all watching her and her face turned even redder. He repeated his question and one of the others asked what she was staring at. She bought herself time by taking a long drink of her water before she finally had to face their questioning. "I'm fine. Really. I'm just not used to the club scene is all." It was true, if not what was directly affecting her so much. She just couldn't believe how different Markise looked out there at that moment.
Luckily, they took her word for it and dropped the questioning. She tried hard not to watch, but still stole glances at Markise and Robbie when she thought she could get away with it. As time went on, some other club members wandered up, offering one or the other a dance until only one of the guys was left.

When the song ended, Markise wanted another almost desperately, but Robbie offered him a drink and he couldn't turn it down. When else would he have the opportunity? Besides, Anna was with the guys and they wouldn't leave her alone. They'd assured him that they'd dance with her and he trusted that even if they thought he was going overboard, they'd humor him.

After her last remaining babysitter -as Anna decided to call him after he turned down several offers with a look of longing- had finished his drink, he wiggled out of the seat and stood in front of her offering his hands. She took them, and was pulled out of her seat and led to the edge of the dance floor. He gave her a wink as he settled her hands on his hips. As they began dancing, he released his hold and moved his hands to her own waist. She held her breath at the contact for a second before forcing herself to relax and just dance. By the time the song faded and the next one started, Anna was able to be comfortable enough with the subtle heat of his hands stationary in place.

Robbie was still all over Markise by the time they reached the bar, but Markise wasn't discouraging him at all. He was determined to soak up as much as possible in between dancing with Annabelle, so he accepted teasing kisses against his neck and wandering hands with good grace. Besides, if he was going to keep himself from trying anything with Ariel, he needed to get the attention somewhere. Before long, they were seated and chatting over drinks. Just one drink with Robbie, one dance and maybe one more drink with whoever he met next, and he'd go check on Annabelle.

Ariel had been in the club a while and already had a drink or two, not enough to give him much more than a pleasantly warm feeling. He normally didn't even let himself have that, but he thought he deserved it after the week spent with Markise. It had been torture, but he couldn't make himself regret any of it, not now in the lights and music of the club. He had hoped to see Markise, but even so, when he saw the familiar figure at the bar, he was pleasantly surprised.
Ariel didn't immediately go up, but paused to watch and take in how Markise was dressed. Markise looked good, and Ariel intended to tell him. He wondered faintly if he shouldn't just leave Markise alone, if he should tone everything down, but the club was a different world. He could do anything he wanted and all but ignore it the rest of the week. He wasn't dressed nearly as nicely as Markise, but he still looked good in his more generic clothing. When his eyes finally slid over Markise to see who he was standing with, they darkened instantly.
Ariel tugged at his clothes, making sure they were in their correct spots more to keep his hands occupied than anything, then walked over to them. Without much prior thought, he slid his arms around Markise's waist when he came up behind him, and sent a glare toward Robbie.

Markise inhaled sharply at the unexpected contact and the immediate heat it sent through him. His heart was still pounding when he recognized the feel of Ariel's arms and turned his head to glance back over his shoulder. "Hi," he said. He made no move to push Ariel away, not when it felt so nice, but all the same he gave Robbie an apologetic look.
Robbie wasn't at all pleased, that much was obvious. He hadn't been done with his Angel yet, and the interloper was familiar this time. Still, there wasn't anything he could do about it, not really. Angel wasn't his. Robbie returned Ariel's glare, then looked to Markise. "See you 'round, Angel," he said. He finished his drink in a gulp, then stood, his shoulder bumping Ariel's as he walked off.

Ariel watched Robbie leave and only when he was out of sight did he turn his attention back to Markise. "You look really good," he said, moving away from thoughts of Robbie, though he didn't pull his arms from around Markise. It felt good to have Markise in his arms. He wondered how much of that good feeling he could attribute to the drinks he had had. He decided not to try to figure it out and just take it as it came, then tightened his arms a little more.

There was no hiding the slight shiver of his muscles, either at the words or at the press of Ariel's arms around him. He looked back at Ariel from beneath ink-black lashes lined in glitter. "Thank you," he said. He might have thought about Ariel as he was deciding what to wear, or how much to dress up. Maybe, but he wouldn't admit it. That wouldn't do any good for them past the walls of the club and he wasn't sure how far he could go while they were here.
