Luna turned and looked at Markise with a smile. "Thanks for helping me a lot." said Luna in her sweet but soft voice. Then she wrote in her notepad 'I just wanted to say thanks to you in my voice.I hope I can see you soon because I am still new and I might need help. If it isn't a bother.' it said.

Markise was surprised at hearing the girl speak, but he felt... maybe important because of it, silly as that might be. He smiled and shook his head slightly. "No bother," he said. "It's easy to get lost in this place." His mind flickered back to one of the first times he'd gotten lost at Hogwarts. For a moment he saw Ariel, then he mentally shook it off. "There's a trick step between the fifth and sixth floors," he warned her. "It's the thirteenth one from the top. Try to hop over it and you should be fine." How long had he been stuck there that day?

Luna nodded and wrote in the notepad this time so she wouldn't lose her voice or get a sore throat even though she spoke a few words she had to be careful the notepad said. 'Okay thanks I think got it. I will try and remember it.'

Markise would have liked to go change and find Anna, but he'd feel bad just ditching Luna, especially if she still needed help. "If there's anything else you need, just let me know, okay?" he said. He almost told her to send him an owl, but decided he wouldn't push the not-talking thing.

Luna nodded and smiled sweetly. She was so happy that someone was being nice to her, then she wrote in her notepad it said: If you ever need help with anything, just ask me okay. I would love to help.

Markise smiled, though he couldn't imagine going to anyone for help, let along a first-year. "Thank you," he said, all the same. "Do you think you'll be okay for now, or do you need help finding something else?" He wouldn't just leave her if she still needed help.

Luna started to think she had many questions about the school but she didn't want to bother him. She then wrote in her notepad and showed him what it said. 'I don't think I need help but if I did I wouldn't ask because I don't want to be a burden or a bother to you.'

Markise blinked, then looked up from the paper to the girl, his eyes softening. That was something Anna had said to him often enough, and he knew what it meant. He gave Luna the same response he gave his friend. "If it was a bother, I wouldn't have offered," he said. If it was a bother, it didn't matter. He'd been new here, and as much as he wanted to get going, he'd rather help if he could.

Luna nodded and smiled. She wrote on her notepad again and it said 'That is true umm Markise maybe one day when I stop using my notepad I am going to talk to you with my real voice that is my payment to you for helping me and being so nice.'

That seemed like a rather strange payment, but since Markise didn't want payment anyway, he supposed it didn't matter whether it was strange or not. He said "Thank you," instead. "So you're okay for now?" he asked, since she hadn't had anything to ask him just yet.

Markise read the notepad, then nodded slightly. "Okay. Well, let me know if you need anything," he said again. "I'm gonna get going now, so I'll see you around." He didn't feel like he was doing much good now, and though he felt selfish for wanting to change and go find Anna, there wasn't anything left for him to do but go.
