Melody, after spending way too much time on the letter, headed off to the Owlery to send it. She couldn't place why but she felt uncomfortable sending the letter to her dad. But then again, she was only asking for him to send her paint. All he had to do was put it all in a box, shrink it, and have an owl send it back. It required no tremendous effort...so then why was she too timid to send it?
After a few minutes in the room, her eyes landed on a honey colored owl. Hoping that it wasn't somebody's personal owl, she tied the letter to the leg and sent it off. Then she took a seat by the window and watched the owl until it was out of sight.

Dragging himself up the stair to the owlery, Vincent pushed open the door and made a very low whistle. An owl automatically came soaring towards him as he stroked it's beak. "Take this to madre e padre. Make sure you get a reply Dante." he told the bird, his voice low and hurrid, this letter had to be sent as soon as possible. Attaching the letter to it's leg. Vincent walked over towards the window and watched the disappearing figure of the owl. Vincent wasn't aware of the girl who was in the owlery, but turning back he caught a glimpse of fiery red hair and was immediately intrigued, Vincent had a weak spot for red heads. "Buongiorno." he did it again, lapsed into Italian, it was hard adjusting to the English speakers here, but he was slowly getting the hang of it. [Buongiorno means Hello or Good day in Italian ]

Melody was so absorbed in watching the window she almost missed the voice directed at her. She ended up turning around anyway and when she did she was glad. She could have sworn she heard him speak English moments ago but what he had said was Italian or something like that.
With a friendly yet timid wave she replied back to the guy, "Hello."

He could return to the common room, but why deprive himself of meeting a new -and quite attractive at that- face. Her timid reply made him grin, the shy type, Zane would love her.
"What would a pretty face like yours be doing in such a place like this." he looked around, the birds drippings and feathers were all over the floor, the smell was overwhelming and she didn't seem like the type to visit such a place, not her style... but that was just a first impression.

"Just getting a letter sent," Melody said, with a slight shrug. She seemed to have gotten carried away looking out the window though, but she didn't say that in fear of him thinking oddly of her. Not too many people were fond of staring out at landscapes these days.
Nodding towards his owl that had flown off Melody said, "I assume you were too?" Although it came out as more of a question, Melody had intended that to be a statement. She had seen the owl with the letter already. Taking a lock of her long red hair, Melody twisted it with her fingers, as was her normal (and unbreakable) habit when meeting someone new.
