Belle sat down on a large log beside the lake thinking what a beautiful day it was and how she would love to sketch the lake, the trees, the wildlife, and the people. Belle sighed at the beauty of it all, and pulled her sketch pad and art supplies out of her bag. She adjusted herself on the log to get a better look at her surroundings.

Not too far sat Vincent. One leg stretched out while the other was bent at the knee. He had one arm lazily leaning on his knee, a calm look on his face. Vincent liked just... looking at the sky. his brother always made fun of his 'laziness' but Vincent more a calm person, not lazy... well somewhat. The large rock wasn't very comforting as he leaned against it, but being close to the lake was calming, he didn't want to sit under a tree.

Belle stared out across the lake and aimlessly sketched the horizon. She didn't really like to sketch horizons but was just doing this to pass the time until she found something or someone that really wanted to draw. Life seemed so much simpler to her when she was drawing. She didn't have to participate in the actual world until she was done with the drawing. That was probably why she liked to draw so much; she liked not having to think about things that normally occupied her mind. Things that she wished she could forget all together.

Vincent's eyes fell on a girl, she seemed to be concentrated on something. He scowled, if it was one thing he hated doing, it was concentrating, he preferred taking his life in stride, a slacker like most call him. Instead of saying anything, he just watched her, he wondered what it was she was looking at? There was only one girl who was like that that he had ever met, and he knew that if he ever commented on her reading, he'd have his head decapitated by a book.

Belle stared back at the horizon over the lake and then the horizon on her paper. It looked practically identical except for that Belle had added a few birds flying around and in actuality there wasn't any. Belle sighed and turned the page. She hated horizon sketches so this just provided to her how utterly bored she was. She looked around trying to find something worth captivating to put down on the paper. She hadn't looked far when she found it.
There was a very attractive boy sitting not too far off and he was staring at her. The way he had his body positioned on the rock was beautiful, the way his clothing fell around him in the light wind was inspiring, and the way he just stared at her was most intriguing. Even in her best moments she could never have thought of such a beautiful scene. She blinked several times to make sure she wasn't making him up. When she was sure he was real, she began sketching fiercely, hoping to capture the beautiful image before he disappeared.

When she looked at him he mentally swore, he was caught. he just hoped she wasn't the type to jump up like most annoying girls and swoon, some girls flattered themselves too much. Instead of pretending nothing happened, he raised a hand acknowledging her, it wouldn't be nice to pretend that nothing happened.
"Zane better not show up." he muttered darkly to himself, he knew that if his brother was here, he'd probably try to prove that he was much better with the ladies, Vincent never really cared, but something about his brothers competitiveness was so... annoying.

Belle looked up again to study the boy as she sketched and saw him wave. She giggled and smiled back. She was so relived that he was still there and that he was real. I'll show him the sketch when I'm done so he doesn't think I'm just some creepy girl watching him, she told herself. He is very gorgeous though, she admitted. But I bet he has girls crawling over him. He seems like he'd be a ladies man. What am I thinking? You don't even know him! She was practically shouting at herself now. Just finish the sketch so you can show it to him and talk to him, she decided. She was nearly finished with the sketch and hurried to finish.

Vincent could faintly see her smile and grinned back. She seemed kind, he coudl always go and introduce himself, but she looked as though she wanted him to stay put, what the hell was she doing? It then dawned on him the possibility of what she could be doing. The way she kept looking up at him was if she was studying him, she was probably drawing. He moved moved when she looked down and craned his neck to see a pencil, then returned to his former position, she must be drawing. His lips quirked in a smirk, this was one of the few things that would piss his brother off.

There, she thought. It's finished! She looked over at the beautiful boy and decided that it was time to suck up here fear of talking to the beautiful creature and show him the picture she had drawn of him. She gathered her art supplies into her sling bag, leaving her sketch pad out, threw the bag over her shoulder and walked over towards where the boy was sitting.

He watched the girl walk towards him, he knew what she had been doing, but wasn't sure what to expect. As she came nearer, he grinned and stood up. With a small tilt of his head, her lips pulled up in a smile, formalities were important to him.
"Vincent Mezzanotte, I would love for you to join me." he straightened up, his accent was thick, he almost lapsed into Italian, but knew she probably wouldn't understand what he was saying, not that it wouldn't be amusing to see the confusion on her face.
Vincent studied her before turning his gaze to what was in her hand. He was right, she was drawing the pencil and sketch pad confirmed his suspicions.

Belle was pleased with the formalities of the boy. He was by far one of the most polite people she had met so far, especially upon first impression.
"Annabelle Hope," she informed him with a smile. "But please call me Belle." She let out a small gasp as she realized just how beautiful he was close up.
"I hope you don't mind me sketching you," she said apologetically. "I just saw you there and you inspired me so, I just had to sketch you."

"Not at all, I'm flattered I inspired you." his lips curled in a crooked grin, he waited for her to sit, he would never sit before a girl did, it was against his 'code of ethics'.
Vincent knew it would be nice to get to know someone in the school, for him, he wasn't really a person who liked other peoples company, but even he didn't like to be alone.
"So Bella... would you mind if I take a look?" he asked, eying the sketchpad before returning his gaze to look at her.

"Oh no go ahead and look," she replied excitedly as she pulled the sketch pad out from the crook of her arm and handed it to him. She then took a seat on the rock as she watched his reaction to the sketch. "I hope you like it," she added cheerfully.
