Michael nodded and looked down, taking a moment for himself to imagine. It was hard to believe that they would actually get to be married someday, considering all of the roadblocks they had found, but there was still a pinprick of hope that he could cling to. "You know," he said, bringing his eyes back up to her. "He asked me on Christmas morning. I went home with him for the holidays." He had never had a better Christmas, he didn't think he would ever have a better Christmas.

"Christmas, I can only imagine how amazing it must have felt for both of you." she said in a small voice. She had no Christmas, just the usual letter, and a bag full of money to please her. It had worked before, but right now, the money was somewhere stuffed under the counter.
Her lips turned up, she was indeed happy for Michael, having been proposed to on Christmas must have made the day that much better.

"Yes, and all I got him was an easel and a pair of boots," Michael said, shaking his head at himself. He didn't think there could have been anything that would have matched Dare's gift, though. Any sadness in Storm didn't register through Michael's haze of memories. Usually he would have caught on immediately, but the thought of their first Christmas together was enough to distract him from anything.

"An easel is a great gift Michael. I'm sure Dare would have been happy if you only gave him a hug for Christmas. It the fact you spent it together that matters." Lucretia turned her head to the bag once more, it was one Christmas present she really was planning on getting rid of.
"I really need to do something to this place... like hold an event. Any ideas?" it was random, but the place seemed do boring, she had to figure out a way to change it up a bit, or to attract people.
"Or maybe even a new name." she muttered under her breath, he probably heard her, but it didn't really matter.

Michael sat back in his chair more comfortably and tried to make his mind move from Dare to Storm's question. To a mind that wasn't used to so much as keeping in touch with anyone but Dare, it proved harder than expected. "I don't know," he said finally, after finding that there was no way to pull his mind completely from Dare once it was there. "I'm rarely here any more except after school on my way home." And he only stopped in town once or twice a week for mail.

She scrunched up her nose, her fingers drumming against the polished table. A sigh escaped her lips as she wondered what it was she coudl do.
"You're so useful." she muttered sarcastically, but a hint of a smile had returned to her lips. She didn't know what more she could say, what more to ask. Instead, she accepted the silence, this time it was more comforting than before and she enjoyed it immensely.

Michael grinned and shrugged. "Sorry, it's the truth, though. I have to open my shop and then Dare comes home..." and then they had a couple of hours together before they had to go to sleep, if they were lucky. He would love to help Storm, but every time he tried to focus on her, Dare would come back into his mind. It hadn't occurred to him how much Dare was there, but he wasn't used to having to think about someone else, either.

Lucretia nodded, she to some extent understood. There was one thing that was constantly on her mind, and sometimes it completly preoccupied her mind. She also shrugged.
"Don't mind me, it's alright, I get where you're coming from." looking down at her mug she shook her head, it wasn't even close to being empty. Lifting it up, she finally downed a bit more of the liquid.

Michael smiled, almost sheepishly, and mimicked her by taking a long drink. "I'll try to think of something," he promised. "Maybe I'll mention to Dare...or you could even come by sometime, if you wanted." Dare seemed to get good ideas easily. Michael's eyes brightened a little as he remembered when they had been planning the ceremony.

The idea made her grin, she would like to visit them, as childish as it may have sounded, but for once she could visit someone without having the restraints she usually did.
"I'd love to, I can finally visit someone without having my mother telling how to act." she rolled her eyes, but she also returned a sheepish grin, once again she somehow managed to stir the conversation to her parents, she felt so self absorbed for a moment.
"Alright, I'll take you up on that offer, as long as I don't have to wear a frilly dress and be 'formal'." she shivered at the thought, but the idea almost made her laugh, maybe she shoudl go with something odd like that... just to freak out Dare a little bit.

Michael laughed and shook his head, "Only if you want to." He couldn't exactly picture Storm in a frilly dress, but he had to admit it would be an amusing picture. "I'll talk to Dare and send you an owl sometime," he said, then took another long drink. It was so good to be with a friend again after so long of it just being him and Dare, not that he minded just being with Dare, but it was still good to have someone else to talk to.

Lucretia tipped her head, it would be great to get to see Dare again, they had only spoken twice, but she had grown to like him, and it helped that Michael was also her friend.
"I'll be looking forward to your letter." her smile was still on, the thought of being supportive of the two and a good friend made her feel... good about herself for once. Placing her now empty mug down she frowned.
"I know I'm going to regret that in the morning." Lucretia was now glaring into the cup, as if it was it's own fault she drank all the butterbeer.

Michael raised an eyebrow and shook his head, "It's not like there's enough of anything in there to affect you." His mind shot back to the disaster of a party he and Dare had had and the wine that had been brought out. He quickly pushed those thoughts away in favor of more pleasant ones, such as the fact that soon he would be with Dare and they would have the rest of the day to themselves.

She laughed, and shook her head, it wasn't what she was talking about, then again he was a guy, it would be hard for him to understand.
"It's not the alcohol amounts I'm afraid of, it's just having to much of anything this late really isn't healthy." she pulled out her wand lazily and pointed it at her mug. It zoomed to the kitchen and an audible clunk came from inside, for once she had aimed properly and it didn't fall to the ground.

"Oh," Michael said, then shrugged. He didn't see anything wrong with one, but then again, he was the one that tended to completely forget to eat at times. "I think you'll be okay," he assured her, then took another drink of his own nearly empty mug. His eyes shot to the door and he had to work to pull them back. No matter that he was glad to have met up with Storm, he was anxious to be back with Dare.
