She shook her head squeezing his hand a bit harder, she didn't want him to make any regrets.
"You did it for the both of you, and you two were able to overcome it. Give it sometime I'm sure it will work out, don't regret anything you did for the sake of yourself and someone you love." her hand retracted back, she felt bad for Michael and Dare. She couldn't imagine being put in such a situation, but after being raised in that society, she knew why his father would do what he did.
Sighing she bowed her head the silence that issued after that was thick, she was reflecting, on the situation at hand and how she complained about the little things when Michaels problem was much bigger, and he wasn't even complaining.

Michael shook his head roughly. He couldn't see how it could ever all truly work out. Dare was even still waking up from his nightmares multiple times a week. "Regardless of if it will work out, I still could have stopped it. I could have at least stopped Soren from attacking him!" he finished in an almost desperate tone and looked up at Storm, silently begging her to understand what he meant.

She hadn't given up, but she could see where his pain was coming from, she could pinpoint that he really did care for Dare.
"Then atone for it, don't live in the past. Michael, no matter how much you'll regret it, it wont change the fact that it happened, no matter how much you wish you could have done something differently, you wont be able to. I'm not asking you to move on quickly, I'm asking for you to be able to see what's on the other side waiting for you when you are ready." she was chewing on her lower lip, quite unsure what more she could do. She had never seen him in such a state, usually he was the one in balance and she was the one falling apart.
For once, Lucretia was able to see what he saw all those times she broke and it pained her to know how much pressure she must have put on him when she was breaking.

Michael knew that he couldn't go back and change it, he knew that, but that didn't stop him from wishing he could. He let out a frustrated laugh. "You know, when we were finally able to talk about it, we found out that we were each willing to die to save the other. But it wouldn't have saved the other, anyway. If I had stayed with my choice to go back, Dare would have been miserable, and if my father had killed Dare, I would have gone after him. I'm no match for my father," he said, shaking his head again and running his hand through his hair.

She mustered a small grin, at least he got her point.
"Maybe so, but at least you both came out of there alive, and as far as I can tell sane... or at least as sane as anyone in this world could ever be." she rolled her eyes, although, it did have a strange truth behind it. If it was one thing that the Prophet got right was how many psychopaths there were in the school... and herself being a schizophrenic freak, or formerly, made her shake her head, she wondered if that part of the prophet was in reference to herself or someone else... she couldn't be too sure.

Michael looked away. He wasn't exactly sure how sane they had been upon coming out of it. He knew that if it hadn't been for Dare, he would have remained in a depression for much longer than the week or so he had been injured. Dare was still far from completely recovered. At the thought of Dare, his mind moved to other things, such as the scrapbook and some of the good things they had done together. His lips curved as he thought of the club in London, especially the most recent visit.

His lack of reply made her frown, she gave him a childish frown, she couldn't change his mind, but that wouldn't stop her from attempting to lighten up the mood.
"Oh fine Michael, but seriously all this sad talk is making my already murky shop even worse." Lucretia was actually pouting, and it was real. It was true in some form, the depressing talk and the shock had translated into the room making it seem even darker than it already was despite have all the lights turned on.

Michael looked up from his memories, as if surprised to find that he was still there with Storm. "Sorry, my mind took a different path. I was thinking about Dare. There's this club we go to, in London, it's so...freeing. We went there a week or so ago and," he stopped, shocked at himself. His eyes fell as he tried to search out why he felt so comfortable talking to her about it. Was it simply because he hadn't had the chance to talk about Dare to anyone?

Lucretia waited patiently for him to continue if he wished, her lips were pulled up in a smile. She wasn't goign to ask him to go on this time, he seemed free enough to do so on his own. Instead she gave him an encouraging look, asking him to continue with only her eyes.

Michael looked up at her and smiled, but shook his head. "You don't want to hear about my relationship." He sighed heavily, "But it's amazing. He's amazing. He's an artist, much better than me," he continued anyway, eyes brightening. "And he can sing and he can dance...he can definitely dance. I even taught him how to waltz," he added. Suddenly everything wanted to come out at once, things he would have told his best friend had his best friend at the time not been Dru, who for all her encouragement still seemed at least a little unsure and certainly didn't want to hear about how much her ex boyfriend loved his current fiance.

Lucretia scowled, but it was very playful. She almost coudl feel the excitement radiating from Michael and this was the side of him she preferred.
"Aw, I want to hear Dare sing... and dance. You better give me an encore performance your waltz". She liked listening to Michael talk about Dare, she also felt the same excitement he was currently feel, as if his feelings were contagious.
"Michael I'm no artist, but I can safely say that you and Dare are both amazing artists and that there are different styles. You know... it's given me an idea." Lucretia was frowning, wondering wher they coudl do it.
"How about you and Dare have an art show. You guys can show off the different styles of art you both share. Something you both love that you can do together." she shrugged, it was just a suggestion, but she knew she would definitely love to go and see an art show made by two people on her list of friends.

Michael shook his head, though his smile didn't leave. "I don't think I could do that, I mean...he's the one that wants to make it his career. I just do it as a hobby. I wouldn't want to take anything away from him." He didn't think he would, but if there was an art show, Michael knew it would be just Dare. "But I'll make sure you can see us waltz." His eyes brightened again. "You can come to the ceremony, it's June 30th outside of the Forbidden Forest at school." He didn't even hang on the fact that it was a civil partnership ceremony instead of a wedding in his excitement that he would have someone else to come.

Lucretia nodded her head enthusiastically, she would definitely be there.
"The one ceremony that I would actually willingly go to." she let out a short laugh, if it was one thing she hated, it was weddings. Having attending several of them, Lucretia had more than enough to last for the rest of her life.
"Wow... I won't be kicking and screaming. Count me in, I'll definitely be there for you two." her smile brightened, mirroring his, she was glad that Michael was so open to her, and that she would be there two support him and Dare.

"Maybe I'll make you flower girl or something," Michael teased with a light laugh at the image it brought to his mind. The thought of a flower girl brought to mind images of weddings and chapels, though, and so he pushed it away. "We're looking around at other countries to see what their laws are about weddings, hopefully if we're able to, we'll do that one day." And of course they couldn't just have it by themselves, they would have to invite everyone all over again.

Lucretia stuck out her tongue childishly. The thought of being a flower girl was scary, yet appealing.
"As long as I get to choose the dress." she murmured, but enough for him to hear. His laugh made her smile brighten, all the tension from before had begun to slowly melt away, already she could imagine how great the day would be.
"And hopefully on that day, which I'm sure will come, there will be nothing to worry about." her smile was softer now, reassuring him, telling him that she believed it will happen, that she knew the say would come. All the reassurance she wanted to give him was in that one smile.
