Drawing (anyone)

[Annabelle Hennessy]

Annabelle kicked the ball to him with the inside of her foot. "Like that. You can use any part of your body, just not your hands. It's usually played with teams where you pass the ball, but we can play against each other. It'll be fun." She tried to convince him, sure that he'd have fun if he tried.

Michael stared at her, "Ok," he said, though he didn't really get how it could be fun. Why on earth would you want to run around a field when there are perfectly good brooms just a wave of the wand away? He suppressed a sigh, she was trying. He kicked the ball back towards her and looked back up at her, a questioning look in his eyes.

Annabelle smiled at him and picked up the ball. "Okay, I'll toss it up and we both try to get it to start." She tossed it in the air and it came down behind Michael. She'd taken off as soon as she saw which direction it would land and bumped Michael playfully with her shoulder as she ran pass. "Come on!"

"Hey!" he said as she ran past him. Michael spun around and ran after her, catching up quickly. He stared down at the ball, watching it. After a second of watching, he kicked, aiming at the ball, and it shot out beside her. He dodged around her and started back the other way. His movements were choppy and sloppy, but he slowly got the hang of it. A small smile started to spread across his face.

Annabelle chased after him, wishing she weren't wearing her school robes. She kicked at the ball, missing it the first time and falling behind. She grinned, reached out and grabbed his arm so he wouldn't get away. She kicked at the ball, sending it sideways away from both of them. Letting go, she ran behind him to get around him to the ball.

"No fair!" Michael said as he chased after her. He was really getting into the game, maybe muggles aren't so insane after all, he thought vaguely before becoming fully focused on the ball.

[Annabelle Hennessy]

"Who said anything about fair?!" Annabelle laughed as they fought after the ball. After a few minutes she was panting hard out of breath. She collapse in the middle of the grass on her back, laughing. "I give up!"

Michael plopped down beside her, leaning back on his hands. "That was fun," he said, looking over at her. His eyes sparkled and he smiled. After a few moments he had caught his breath back and he looked up at the sky. "Thank you," he said quietly, not meeting her eyes.

Annabelle rolled onto her side, propping her head up with her hand, elbow digging into the soft ground. "It was fun. I'm glad I didn't chose a game you already knew though, or I would have been creamed!" She had surprisingly had fun too, considering it was completely opposite of how she normally spent her afternoons.

Michael laughed as he looked over at her, "I'm normally not the athletic type," he said. He wasn't the person to run around, he was the one to sit observing and laugh when someone falls off their broom. "How do you know the game?"

[Annabelle Hennessy]

"I'm not athletically inclined either-that’s why I didn't pick a sport where I could fall off a broom to my death.” Annabelle gave a small laugh at how they’d ended up there; she had no clue what had possessed her to suggest the game. “I played football a few times in primary when I had to, but I didn’t really learn much about the game. My dad always had a match on the telly growing up though. Of course I was usually curled up in a chair reading, so I don't really know the rules, just the basic concept.” She smiled at the memory and how nerdy she must seem. She aimlessly picked at the blades of grass with her free hand and wondered why she cared about how Michael viewed her.

Michael found himself watching her movements, staring at her hands as he listened to her speak. There were a few moments of silence once she was finished before he shook his head slightly, shaking his hair around his face to hide it. "The telly?" he asked, unsure, he recognized the word, but wasn't sure exactly what it was.

"It's a, um, muggle thing to view images and movies." Annabelle struggled to find a definition he might understand. She didn't know how much or little he knew about muggles, but just going off him being a Slytherin and helping the death eaters she assumed it wasn't much. She didn't think he had a thing against muggles since he'd been with Dru, but she was slightly apprehensive anyway.

Michael wasn't really sure what she meant, "So it's like a picture? But you can watch a whole game on it?" He had finally gotten over his ingrained hatred of muggles while dating Dru, and now the things they had come up with were worth learning about. He looked at Annabelle with interest.

When the hair fell from Michael's face allowing her to see his interest, she dismissed her fears. She scrunched up her nose, wishing she knew more about what he'd understand. "Sort of, but not exactly. Someone at the game has a camcorder. Sort of like a camera, but it takes a continuous recording, not just a snapshot. Then the recording can be viewed from the telly in someone's home." She sighed. "I don't know if that makes any more sense, I think it's one of those things that are easier to understand if you see them."
