After ten. That was going to be hard to do. Normally when he was sneaking out, it wasn't curfew yet, but it wasn't like he had any other way to manage it. He was avoiding Mano again, and no matter how tempting it was to pick up some liquid courage in the form of a hot cup of coffee, he knew the chances that he'd be able to keep track of time. "I'll make it somehow," he said.

"Thank you," Michael breathed, closing his eyes briefly. He wasn't looking forward to the night, it was going to be rough, but it had to be done. Elouai would need to be locked away, just in case things got rough. His eyes opened and his eyebrows came together. What were the chances of that happening, of it getting rough?

A low "Mmhm," was Markise's only response. He wasn't doing any of this for Michael, only for Dare. And when it was over, he fully expected to end up in the shadows again. While Dare was with someone who wasn't strong enough for him. God, he hated this place. The school, the city, and the whole damned country. Its only redeeming quality seemed to be the clubs in London and the fact that he hadn't been caught.

Michael watched Markise for a moment, then tucked his right hand in his pocket, the thumb of his left still fiddling absently with his ring. Ever since he had had the thought that Dare had been on his potions Christmas morning the thought had constantly reentered his mind. "I'll see you tonight," he said, then paused for just a moment more before he went down the corridor.

Markise nodded at Michael's goodbye, then watched him walk away. When Michael was out of sight, he sighed heavily and looked down at the books in his arms. This was going to be so hard. Seeing Dare when they weren't speaking, helping his fiancé when he was sure whatever he did was going to go unacknowledged anyway. When Dare was well enough for Markise to leave, they wouldn't be thinking about him, they'd be... doing whatever the hell it was they did. Which Markise did not want to think about. He sighed again, then continued on his way to grab something to eat before lunch was gone. Then it was off to make deals with all his professors.
