Mano flicked his wand toward the cafe to turn everything off, then pushed through the door to his living room. "Have a seat," he said, gesturing toward the couches and chairs settled around the fireplace. He could have just gone ahead and taken Markise further, but he reminded himself that he had all the time in the world.

Markise couldn't help looking around the room as he walked in. Mano had said that his apartment was nice, but apparently their ideas of nice differed quite a bit. He had to work to keep from looking as impressed as he was. It wasn't that anything was showy or overdone, but it looked as comfortable and inviting as it was elegant. A hedonist's dream, he couldn't help thinking. He laid his coat and accessories over the end of one of the couches, then took a seat, still twirling that lock of hair as he took the place in. "I like it," he said, as though it wasn't obvious.

Mano gave a grateful bow of his head, "Thank you." He lit the fireplace to fight off the cold he knew would seep in through the windows and door and then settled on the same couch as Markise. He leaned against the crook where the arm met the back and laid his arm over the back of the couch. "Have you thought of anything you want other than coffee and bottled water?" he asked with a smile.

Markise's mind was entirely diverted from the soft feel of the upholstery at that, and he turned his head to look over at Mano. For a moment he just looked at that easy smile, weighing his words. "Not yet," he said at last, "but I'm sure something will come to me." Yes, he realized what he was doing and it scared him, but enough of him wanted to do this, try this, that he did it anyway.

"I could give you some ideas, I'm sure," Mano offered, his eyes giving away more than a little of those ideas. One in particular stuck in his mind, but there was no use rushing straight into that when he knew there could be so much pleasure in so many other things, not to mention that those other things would lead to what was on his mind.

Markise's tongue slipped out against his lips, and his gaze dropped momentarily to Mano's. He wondered... But it was so strange. He'd been with Kwami for a month before they'd done anything, Valentino had completely ambushed him, he'd hardly gone anywhere with Dare, and Ariel... Ariel had been a kiss that neither of them had known how to stop. He didn't really know how to start, or even if he should. "Maybe it's my turn to listen to you," he suggested.

"Is that so?" Mano asked, feeling slightly amused by the suggestion. Perhaps Markise was more willing to go quickly than Mano thought. He met Markise's eyes. He wouldn't mind going ahead and starting, but just looking at Markise and saying let's got it on wasn't the type of thing Mano did. "Do you want my ideas?"

Markise wondered if he'd ever breathe normally around Mano, if his heart would ever slow back to its normal rate. "Maybe... one thing," he said softly. He had no idea what Mano was thinking beyond that gleam he'd seen flicker into his eyes. He knew there was no way he could just strip and let the guy have him, though. This was all still so strange, and he was trying not to think about it too hard.

"Well, we could just go to my room, no reason to stay out here when there's a perfectly good bed," Mano said, then shrugged lightly. "Or you could just slide over here." He was good for either one, he wouldn't care which one Markise chose. But there, he had said it, had given a choice. Markise hadn't asked for anything other than to listen to Mano.

Markise's mind was nowhere near where Mano's was. As far as his request had been intended, he was already listening to Mano. His gaze flickered to the doorway that had to go into the main part of the house, to Mano's bedroom, then back to the man himself. He hesitated, then shuffled a bit closer, then a bit closer yet, entirely unsure where he was supposed to stop and what would happen when he did. "Is this okay?" he asked, just after he'd passed the place where Mano's hand rested on the back of the couch.

Mano moved the hand that wasn't on the back of the couch to Markise's chin. "This is just fine," he said softly, then tilted his head for a soft kiss. It wasn't much, just enough to begin testing Markise's limits. He was in, there was always another time to be able to push harder. He left his other arm on the back of the couch, just in case dropping it was a mistake.

Markise breathed a sigh nearly as soft as the kiss he'd just been given. Only one person had ever kissed him so softly, and yet this was entirely different. It was amazing how a simple meeting of lips could hold so much, even when they hardly knew each other. It was amazing how that somehow added to the excitement. His eyes blinked open and he looked at Mano for a moment. "I'm not sure I heard you," he murmured.

"It doesn't matter," Mano said, then let his arm drop from the back of the couch to rest on Markise's shoulders. He spread his hand over Markise's jaw and went for another kiss. He didn't want to waste any more time when he could be kissing Markise. He had wasted too much already. It was a relief to finally get to kiss him, nice to have someone new.

Markise had thought himself an expert until this kiss. He knew how to use his mouth, had since Kwami, but this was such a different level than he was used to. He followed and matched and loved everything he learned, everything he got out of it. The physical was something he understood. He angled toward Mano better, and one hand rose, settling against the side of that raised arm, curving around slightly to feel the tensed muscle, then just beginning to slide up. He couldn't just sit there and be kissed, even if it was incredible.

Mano ran his hand back into the silky hair that had been teasing him during the long walk. He was pleased to note Markise picking up on little things that most would overlook. It was going to be fun to have Markise coming by. The hand at Markise's shoulder curved around it, encouraging the angle toward his own body as he shifted against the couch.
