Markise's lips curved into a small smile at the tone in Ariel's voice. For once, he wasn't going to demand hearing the words. From Ariel, that was permission enough. Besides, as much fun as it might be flirting with someone who didn't know he was a guy, he'd far rather spend the trip stroking Ariel's ego in front of his brother. Ariel should be able to handle it. He could fake it with a girl way too well for Markise's taste. "Just tell me when and I'll be ready," he said. He'd been seriously considering subverting the system to get some pre-made polyjuice potion anyway.

"Any time is fine with me, as soon as I get the owl back, if you know of a way to get to London." Ariel didn't know of a way, but Markise had mentioned that his sister did, even if it wasn't technically allowed. And he knew that if he went and sent off the owl that night, he would get a reply in just a couple of days with all of the information Markise could want. His hand moved absently against Markise's back as he thought about the whole thing.

"Mmhm, I asked Brin...well, I got it out of her anyway." If he'd just asked, she'd have wanted to know why, and though he felt no driving need to answer all her questions, the effort of avoiding it was more trouble than it was worth. Markise shifted comfortably against Ariel, realizing as he did so how hot it was under the coat that he was still wearing. "I need to take this off," Markise said, and shuffled inside Ariel's coat, trying to get it off without having to move away from Ariel.

Ariel lifted his head to look down at Markise. He moved his hand up to the top of the coat to help push it off. He had had his fun seeing Markise in it, and couldn't blame him for wanting it off after everything. "You did a really good job," he commented, looking at the coat as he pushed against it. Surely it would be plenty to keep him warm whenever he did have to go outside. Had he ever thought it possible that he wouldn't want to go outside?

"Thank you," Markise said. He pulled free of the coat and sighed in relief at the feel of cool air against his lightly slicked skin. He hadn't slept much the last couple days when he'd been working, but the result was a full winter coat, the first Markise had ever made. He could sleep some other time. Saturday, maybe. He intended on going to the club on Friday night. "I'm going to London Friday after supper," Markise said. "I'll make sure Brin's directions work." Markise left it wide open for Ariel to come or not. He hoped he would.

"Where are you going?" Ariel asked, letting his hand move over Markise's warm skin. He had a good idea where Markise was going, maybe he just wanted to be asked to go, somewhere inside. No, he didn't want to go, didn't care to go to a club or anything like what Markise wanted. He did not want to go and see Markise dance, however much the image of him dancing had been in his mind the last few nights.

"A club in London called Popstarz. It's got different kinds of music playing in different places. Don't ask how I heard about it." Not that he thought Ariel actually would ask. Markise sighed happily at the thought of getting out, one hand trailing absently over Ariel's abdomen as he did so. "It's going to be so amazing just letting go, doing whatever the hell I want for hours. You should so come with me, Ariel. Nobody will even know us there, it'll be amazing."

Ariel hadn't considered asking about it, but was interested when Markise told him specifically not to, though he kept his mouth shut. He wrinkled his nose slightly when Markise said he should go, even though he really couldn't say he was entirely opposed to the idea. People would still see them, would still know. "I don't know," he said finally, looking down at the top of Markise's blond head.

Markise gave a melodramatic sigh. "It would be so much better with you there," he said, the motions of his fingers growing more purposeful. "Besides, you could still be straight if you wanted to. Maybe you're just curious or your friend talked you into coming along so he wouldn't have to walk through the dark streets of London all alone." Markise was a little worried about that part. He didn't intend on leaving until it was dark enough to give him cover and it'd be incredibly late by the time he got back. Markise knew he was an easy mark, even with a wand, and in Muggle London, using his wand, even to protect himself, was a highly questionable idea.

Ariel wrinkled his nose again, not liking how easily he was being talked in to going. "The straight guy would drop his friend off then go to the bar across the street," he pointed out, thinking of his brother and his friends. If there were straight guys comfortable enough in their sexuality to hang out in a gay club, Ariel had surely never met one of them.

Markise pouted at that logic. It made perfect sense and he couldn't argue it. "Fine, you're curious then, if it makes you feel better. Besides, in a club like that, it doesn't really matter, no one's going to ask." It'd be far better if Ariel didn't try telling anyone he was straight, anyway. Markise shoved his reservations aside before his optimism about the whole thing faded. He wanted Ariel to come with him. He wanted to pretend this was a real relationship and not just a series of agreed-upon activities.

So everyone was just going to assume he was gay. Just like everyone naturally assumed he was straight everywhere else. Did he really want to have that happen? On the other hand, did he really want to stay at the school when he knew that Markise was going to be on the dance floor with who knew how many other guys? He was going to be anyway, but maybe being there would make it not so bad.

"So will you come with me?" Markise asked. He pressed soft, tempting kisses against Ariel's chest and slowed the motions of his fingers. "I'll make it worth it to you," he promised. They both knew he'd do it anyway, but the where and how could make a huge difference. Markise's mind kept slipping back to the club, eagerly imagining scenarios. He'd already decided what he was wearing, and he hoped Ariel approved. It wouldn't be his usual look.

Ariel sighed heavily, but nodded, "I'm not dancing." He would gladly watch, as long as he didn't see Markise all up on some other guy, but he didn't plan on joining. So why did he get the nagging feeling he would end up doing it anyway? He shifted against Markise and his eyebrows creased as he tried to figure that out. He had no luck, though, and so resigned himself to the fact that he was going to a club in London.

"As long as you're there with me you can do whatever you want." Markise blinked at a sudden thought that occurred to him with those words. What if Ariel wanted to dance with someone else? What if he met someone at the club who didn't get on his nerves the way Markise did? Markise's lips pressed tight, and his arm slipped across Ariel, the motion of his hand more possessive than it had been before. If Ariel did that, Markise could do it too, but he didn't intend to let Ariel go that easily.
