Adara wasn't going anywhere in particular. With her classes over for the day, there wasn't much to do other than sit somewhere, do her homework, and think about Emilian. She had already written to him today, another day without a response. But still she wrote.
She paused just at the entrance to a larger corridor, though few were about in this area of the castle. Most were likely on the lawns already, or in the forest. Adara was considering returning to her Common Room, but she was also considering the library.

Ariel sighed heavily through his nose as he turned down yet another corridor that looked exactly the same as all the others. But he actually saw someone when he turned down it, that had to be a plus. He had been wandering around for what felt like hours, but all he wanted to do was get to the library and get some work done. He very nearly just turned around and walked away from the girl, but he forcefully reminded himself that he was in a new school and that she didn't know the old rumors.
So Ariel sucked it up and walked up to her, running a frustrated hand through his hair and then shaking the hair back down comfortably in his eyes and around his shoulders as he came up to her. "You wouldn't tell me," he started after making sure she realized he was there. "How to get to the library, would you?"

Adara blinked, throwing off her own thoughts at the question. Then her dark eyes brightened, and her lips curved. "I do, actually," she said, trying as subtly as she could to take him in without staring or looking too closely. She desperately missed Emilian. "I was considering going there just now. I will show you," she offered, inclining her head lightly in question.

Ariel chewed his tongue to keep himself from declining and just asking for directions. He wasn't in his old school, she wasn't giggling and whispering about him. "Thank you," he said when he finally released his tongue. "This place is a nightmare." He had been lost more times than he cared to admit, and that was with making sure he knew where all his classes were the first few days. He had made sure the he knew so that he wouldn't get lost and he had done so anyway.

Adara's lips curved a bit further. "It only seems so at first," she assured him. "Once you learn the larger corridors, it will not be so difficult." Adara extended one pale hand to the boy in greeting. "My name is Adara Snow," she said politely. "May I ask your name?" He looked nothing like Emilian, and yet she could not help thinking him attractive. Adara forcefully pushed that thought away as traitorous.

"Logan Callahan," Ariel said, taking Adara's hand. It was easy for him to say his name was Logan, he had been forcing himself to say it to so many people, had been called it in class so much, that it seemed his real name to him now. The only person he could even imagine calling him Ariel anymore was Markise, and he had said he wouldn't do it if others were around.

Adara tried to ignore the heat that streaked through her at the direct physical contact, but it was difficult. She hadn't touched anyone skin to skin since Emilian had left, and her body craved it desperately. Adara dropped her gaze, hoping he--Logan--had not seen anything incriminating in them, then slipped her hand free. "It is nice to meet you, Logan," she said, then brought her gaze up again when she had herself in check.

Ariel nodded and glanced around, "So which direction is it?" He didn't care to just stand around idly talking with some girl when he could be heading to the library to get his work done. He just wanted to get going, the sooner he got his work done the sooner he could...do other things. Like meet up with Markise. He shook his head again, the hair falling more firmly over the sparkle in his eyes as he waited for Adara to start walking.

Adara took a quick breath, then looked away from Logan, back to the wider corridor she'd just approached. "This way," she said, gesturing lightly with her head toward the right. She began leading the way, trying to think of some polite small talk to distract her from her sudden weakness. Of course, it only seemed sudden because she didn't have Emilian feeding and rewarding that weakness. "May I ask what you are going to the library for? Homework? Personal reading, perhaps?"

"I have homework, having a lot of cross over work to do," Ariel said as she started to walk and he followed barely half a step behind her off to the side. He didn't say anything for a moment, and then realized he should at least make an attempt at talking to her unless he wanted her to go and tell everyone how horrible he was. "What about you?"

Adara allowed herself to glance aside at Logan. "Both homework and personal reading," she replied, then repressed a sigh as she looked toward the corridor again. "I have much free time lately." She had friends, yes, but each was involved in his or her own life and trials, and Adara did not wish to disturb them. Michael had been a great help to her, but it seemed that as the days passed, her yearning to Emilian only grew stronger. Adara had to blink to clear her mind.

Ariel looked over at Adara, lately? What made it different from before? His first thought was that she had gone through a break up, which would explain a sudden abundance of free time, but didn't ask. "You need to find something to do, reading's good, but it doesn't make the time go fast." There were plenty of things she could do to make her time go by.

Adara gave Logan a watery smile. "I would very much like that, but I'm afraid I am unused to having so much unstructured time and would not know what else to do with it." Before Emilian, she had filled her Hogwarts days with homework, reading, and making friends. Before that, her time had been structured for her. "What kinds of activities would you suggest?" The words were out of Adara's mouth almost entirely before her mind filled in the activities she was most used to indulging in, but again, she tried to blink them back. Emilian, I miss you!

Ariel shrugged, "I swim." At least, that was what he was going to tell her that he spent his free time doing. "I don't know about you, though, what do you like to do?" He almost couldn't believe it, he was having an actual conversation with a girl, one that wasn't whispering, wasn't giggling at his expense. It was almost enough to confuse him, but he kept telling himself that he shouldn't be surprised, he was in an entirely different country.

Adara bit her lip, her mind rejecting the first response that popped into her mind. I like to be with my lover. She was already being driven slowly insane by wanting him, and they'd been separated no longer than they'd been separated before. Adara was beginning to think that she should avoid male company until Emilian's return. "I read," she said, "and I write." She couldn't seem to help herself, not with the male body beside her. "My more...physical pursuits are unavailable to me now." Adara bit her lip again, briefly. "And I do not know how to swim." That was most definitely not a ladylike pursuit.
