Ariel raised an eyebrow, his own eyes dropping down to Markise's. "I'm sure we could," he agreed, remembering the way those lips had felt on his, the way they had tasted. "But I would be perfectly fine with my arms." Okay, so may not perfectly fine, but he could deal with that. He didn't need to kiss Markise. Again. Didn't even want to kiss Markise. Again.

Markise couldn't read thoughts, but he could feel Ariel's arms around him, and they weren't budging. He could also guess at the path of Ariel's gaze. Markise licked his lips slowly, glad to find that his fruity flavored lip gloss hadn't worn off entirely yet. He arched his neck back, then brought his lips to Ariel's, parting them softly in invitation. Ariel could pretend to be as disinterested as he wanted, but Markise knew, and he didn't want to pretend.

Ariel's eyes had been caught by the smooth motion of Markise's tongue, had watched intently as that head leaned and that neck arched, only falling closed when he felt those soft lips touch his. His arms tightened and he told himself that no one would ever know and tried to placate the side of him screaming to pull away and run down the stairs.

Markise parted his lips further, his lightly fruit-flavored tongue slipping into Ariel's mouth to tempt him. He wanted Ariel to take control again, besides that press of strong arms around him. It was delicious being held like this, kissing like this. It had been too long since Markise had felt truly wanted, and he was reveling in it. There was no denying that Ariel wanted him. Well, unless one counted his insistence that he wasn't gay.

Ariel answered Markise, pressing his tongue past those delicious lips to explore more thoroughly. He tightened his arms again as he tilted his head down farther to deepen the kiss and his hands spread out over Markise's stomach to take in as much as possible without letting his grip loosen. Even the press of their bodies was enough to make him not want to leave, it was so very different from the girlfriends he had had, and he wondered how he had ever been happy with the. I wasn't.

Markise was weakening again. Everything in Ariel's body language said he couldn't get enough, and he was drinking Markise in like a man who'd never had a drink of clean water. It was amazing, and Markise wanted more. He was hungry to feed Ariel's curiosity, and so his lips parted wider, giving Ariel more room to explore. He shifted backward, just slightly, just adjusting their bodies against one another, but the motion sent shivers up his spine.

Ariel's body was a flash of electric shock with that small movement and he inhaled sharply through his nose at it, which only gave him a lungful of Markise's scent. He let the breath out shakily and just returned to the kiss with more intensity than before, years' worth of need welling up and pouring itself out on Markise, the only true outlet it had ever had.

Markise's brows knit, and a soft, almost desperate sound rose in his throat. He was dizzy with the intensity of it, and suddenly he needed Ariel's arms to hold him up. His hand nearest their heads rose, sinking into Ariel's thick hair and holding on, loving the feel of it. Every time Ariel reacted, Markise heated further, and he didn't know how much longer he could stay sane.

Ariel had already lost control of his own body, and control over his mind was quickly leaving as well. Between that small sound and the hand so desperate in his hair he didn't know how he could pull away. He needed to, he needed to slow the kiss. But he couldn't make himself do it, it felt too good, slowing down was much too hard.

Markise wasn't used to being the one in charge of stopping. He could initiate, that wasn't beyond him, but he didn't know how to end something that felt so good. He couldn't think clearly, but part of him kept waiting for the hard body behind him to take it further, to whisper in his ear that it was time. But Markise couldn't pretend he didn't know where he was, or with whom. He was with a guy he'd met twice. In an empty corridor. He couldn't stop.

Ariel wouldn't have stopped until, well, until he was exhausted and just couldn't continue. At least, until he heard those footsteps, heavy and ringing through some nearby corridor. It took a moment, but the sound penetrated his mind and, all at once, he realized what was going on, he was kissing a guy on the stairs in the open, and someone was coming.
Ariel broke the kiss with a gasp, pulled his arms away, and tried to step back, succeeding only in his heel getting caught on the lip of the stair behind him. He ended up sitting on a stair a couple steps up gripping the edge tightly as he tried to catch his breath, eyes wide and heart pounding.

Markise's eyes flew open, and he found his back flat against the stone wall that used to be beside him. One hand laid flat against the stone, the other flat against his heaving chest as he tried to take in enough air, but the more he pulled in, the dizzier he got. He couldn't even think, couldn't be offended at the sudden stop because his mind was whirling. It took him a while to hear the retreating footsteps. "Oh. My God," he panted, the words having nothing to do with the footsteps and everything to do with the kiss.

Ariel was taking quick, spaced out, shallow breaths as he tried to make sense of things that were impossible to make sense of. He was missing the kiss, missing the oblivion that it had brought along with the mindless pleasure. And those damned steps that had taken it away from him were going away! He hadn't even needed to pull away and risk breaking his wrist from falling. He brought one hand up to his head, wishing the headache that was just starting would leave.

It took some time before Markise finally looked for Ariel, finding him sitting on a step, looking easily as stunned as Markise. Part of Markise reveled in that. He pushed away from the wall, moving to sit down next to Ariel. "Are you okay?" he asked, reaching up to smooth back Ariel's hair. He was still a little breathless, and his blood was still racing, but he could think now.

Ariel closed his eyes and turned his head from Markise, trying to ignore the pleasant tingle that ran through him from just that light touch. He nodded and pushed himself to stand, then, after a few wavy moments as he caught his balance, he hopped down over the trick step to leave. He wanted to clear his head, but maybe just a tiny part of him hoped Markise would follow him.
