Michael watched Dare, wanting so badly to kiss him, but holding back when he heard Dare say...something. It took a few moments more for the words to sink in and then to make any sense in his mind, and when he finally pulled his eyes from Dare and looked over at Markise, he tilted his head slightly. He didn't know Markise well enough yet to read him, but it was obvious he was thinking hard about something.

Markise glanced up, looked at Dare, then Markise, then Dare again, and dropped his gaze back to the grass, where he picked another soft green victim. "I guess so," he sighed. "It's just, God, I don't know, confusing. Things were pretty settled at SWIM until you left, and now..." Markise gave a light shrug. "There's a lot to think about. It's going to take a while." A long while. He was falling for one guy while he still had feelings for another, but that one had already moved on, a while ago by the look of it.

Dare nodded. "It's always like that around here," he said. "Michael told me once that you get used to it, and yeah, I think you do. I get bored now when nothing's going on." Or he got worried, like he was about the Gryffindors' and Slytherins' silence. Dare rubbed his hand against Michael's side, taking advantage of the fact that his hand wasn't visible to Markise. He was starting to get edgy, and though he loved Markise, he wanted to be alone with Michael.

Michael nodded as Dare spoke and his hand matched Dare's movement, and he just couldn't seem to keep his eyes from watching Dare. He forced his hand to still when he realized that Markise could probably see the motion, he didn't feel right rubbing it in his face like he had the last time. He would keep it down and be glad for the fact that Dare had his friend back.

Markise didn't see the motion of Michael's hand. He'd been rather absorbed in seeing how thin a strip he could tear off the blade of grass he was mutilating. He shrugged at Dare's words, though. "I guess," he said, not entirely convinced. His drama didn't exactly have anything to do with the school, just issues within himself. He'd just have to wait and see how those turned out.

Dare's hand kept up its motion against Michael's side. He knew it wasn't lowering the tension between them any, but at the moment, he didn't want to lower the tension. He wanted to let Markise know the conversation was over now so he could have some one-on-one time with his boyfriend. "You'll be fine," Dare assured Markise. "I'll be around anyway, and Michael too, so you're not alone," he said. He wouldn't tell Markise where they were staying yet, not without talking to Michael about it, but he put the offer to talk out there. "And thanks again for the shirts. I'm totally wearing mine tomorrow," he promised.

Michael forced his eyes over to Markise, willing him to leave as he nodded along with Dare's promise, he would wear his, however awkward it would feel to wear something so different from what he usually did. He hoped Markise would leave, the hand at his side was slowly driving him insane since he really couldn't do anything about it. He wanted to kiss Dare, but wouldn't as long as Markise was still there.

Markise nodded, dropped his grass shards, and looked back up at Dare, then Michael, then Dare again. He'd been about to start winding things down, but by the looks of it, they'd wound down and it was time for a graceful exit. "Okay, well," he said, pushing to his feet. "I'm glad you liked them." He dusted off his rear, then gave a light wave. "I'll uh, see you around," he said. Okay, so it wasn't very grateful, but at least it was an exit. Markise headed back around the lake, not looking back.

Dare watched Markise until he disappeared past some trees, then turned to look at Michael, his eyes gleaming. In one smooth motion, he guided Michael back against the grass and brought their lips together. They were out of view enough to count, and if anyone found them, it'd be their own fault. He and Michael were out, anyway. Dare's hand swept against Michael's side, rhythmically as he kissed Michael. He'd moved a little fast, but it was a relief to do it.

The broad smile that had come over Michael's face at the look in Dare's eyes and at being pushed back into the grass melted easily into the kiss. He didn't give more than a passing thought to the knowledge that they were out where anyone could walk up on them, and there was a certain freedom in not caring if someone saw them. He stretched his legs out and brought his arms up around Dare, holding him loosely.

Dare's hand slid up Michael's side, then down again before slipping under the edge of his shirt, just a little. He didn't intend to undress Michael, but he wanted as much direct contact as he could get, and that felt perfectly reasonable. The kiss was deep, intense, and it went on for quite a while before slowing, and eventually stopping, leaving Dare grinning and slightly breathless. He looked down at Michael, eyes still hazy, quite pleased with the current circumstance.

Michael grinned up at Dare and moved the hand that hadn't worked its way underneath Dare's shirt up to his jaw, stroking it lightly before moving up into his hair. He lifted his head a little and touched his nose to Dare's lightly, eyes sparkling, "You're spoiling me." He was so used to getting his kisses, it was already torture having to wait for Dare to get back from work to be with him.

Dare's lips curved into a crooked smile. "And loving every second of it," he assured Michael, leaning down to nuzzle against him. "I wish I could take you to work with me," he said idly. "Dance with you during break, maybe drag you back into the DJ booth." It sounded great to Dare. He wondered if Dru would mind, as long as he didn't do it every night. Dare's hand stroked absently against Michael's side, his thumb and fingers sliding gently over the skin as his palm took in the warm pocket between Michael and his shirt.

Michael smiled and relaxed back into the grass again, "Ask Dru about it." He couldn't imagine her saying no, as long as Dare did his job. It wasn't like she had never ignored her duties for a little while to be with someone. Then his hand paused in Dare's hair as he realized with a slight shock that he had just been thinking about dancing with Dare in public, and not felt strange about it at all.

Dare's smile curved into a grin. "I'm so doing it tonight," he said. Michael knew Dru better than he did, and though Dare had thought that Dru might go for it, Michael seemed pretty confident. Dare leaned to give Michael a brief kiss, then lifted his head again, his other hand moving to play with a strand of Michael's hair. He looked at Michael for a few long moments before speaking again. "So are you cool with Markise now?" he asked. It had seemed so, but Dare wanted to be sure before he started inviting Markise to tag along with them, something he couldn't see doing at all during the week when their time was so limited.
