Logan. Logan. Logan. He had to repeat it, or he would do something stupid, like introduce himself as Ariel. He had had enough of being picked on because his name was Ariel back home, he was going to try to go by Logan. Again. He had tried and failed to do so the year before, his fifth year. He found an empty compartment, the first one he saw, and dragged his trunk in behind him, glancing around before levitating it into the overhead compartment. Then he pulled up his faded jeans and slumped in the seat next to the window, staring out at the stone wall as though it were the reason for everything in his life; his parents, his brother, his old school, everything.

It wasn't long after that the door slid open, and a slender girl in combat boots, camo, and a rather short black shirt stepped backward through it. "Come on, Kise, before someone else gets it!" She turned around, dragging her trunk to a stop still in the doorway. Her vivid blue eyes widened a moment, then tried to look sultry as her lips curved. She'd thought the compartment was empty, but this was even better. Brindle brought out her wand and levitated her trunk to a space in the rack opposite the very cute boy sitting by the window, then claimed the other window seat. "Hi," she purred, or tried to, anyway.

"Don't call me that," a somewhat soft, but obviously irritated voice said. Markise stepped through the doorway dragging his own trunk and, like his sister, paused just inside it. He couldn't help the flicker of his eyes over the guy, and he glanced over at his smiling sister, arching one brow. Cute. He threw an almost apologetic look at the guy, then levitated his trunk up beside his sister's and sat down next to her, a good foot away.

"Yes, of course you two can join me," Ariel said, rolling his eyes, "Please, have a seat." Of course, he couldn't stop his eyes trailing over the both of them, an almost bored look at the girl and then he turned his eyes to the...was it a girl? He wasn't at all sure, he didn't see much in the way of a chest on...Kise, but the face wasn't the most masculine he had ever seen. He wasn't aware that his eyes were hovering on the second person as he thought, debating.

Brindle knew that look. She'd seen it often enough with her brother, and she was annoyed for him. He didn't seem to care, which confused the hell out of her; if someone thought she was a boy, she'd be ticked. Brin decided to mess with the guy. She turned to her brother and held out one hand expectantly. "Do you have any lip gloss on you, Keesee? I left mine in my trunk," she asked brightly, then glanced aside at the other guy to see his reaction.

Markise gave a long-suffering sigh and only just repressed a roll of his pale blue eyes. He knew what Brin was doing, and gave her a disapproving look. Leave the guy alone. Yes, Markise had come out, but that was back home, and at SWIM, not here, and it wasn't something you told someone the first time you met them, was it? He hadn't quite gotten that figured out yet. Still, he pulled up his shirt a bit, shifting sideways on the seat to pull out a tube and hand it to his sister. I'm humoring you. Now drop it.

Ariel stared at Kise. It had to be a girl, why else would they be carrying around lip gloss? And wearing make up? The Weird Sisters wore make up, though, didn't they? But that didn't count, it didn't come close to counting, they were rock stars, they could do whatever they wanted. A few moments later he shrugged slightly and crossed his arms as he slid down into the chair. Just because he was now stuck with them for the next however many hours, didn't mean that he had to talk to them. His eyes kept moving over to Kise, though, and would hover for a moment before being jerked back to the window.

Brindle smiled at her brother, then turned back to the other boy to apply the lip gloss, pouting slightly when she saw that he wasn't even looking anymore. She put the lid back on and held her hand out to Markise without even looking. "Take it, I'm done," she said. She felt the first jerk of the train moving, and her arms crossed over her chest as she looked out the window. She needed to find something to do. Her gaze turned back to that boy.

Markise tucked his lip gloss away again, then leaned in close to Brindle. "You need to just give up and wear a bra," he whispered. "You'd look better, anyway." Last year it hadn't been as much of an issue, but over the summer... Markise's gaze followed Brindle's back to that guy. He could feel the guy looking at him, and was starting to wonder. "Can I help you with something?" he asked.

A few thoughts entered Ariel's mind that he could say, but none of them were allowed to come out. "I'm fairly sure you wouldn't want to help me with anything," he said, putting out more confidence than he truly felt. "I'm just letting my mind wander," he added, shrugging and turning his eyes back to the window, but not before settling on the girl and raising an eyebrow. Did she have something to say to him?

Brindle's eyes brightened at being noticed. Maybe the guy could think about something other than her brother's gender, after all. "We're going to be here for a while, so we may as well get to know each other," she said, though she fully realized the guy would probably rather be left alone. But honestly, it was too late to find another compartment, so she may as well. Brin held out one slim hand and introduced herself. "My name's Brindle," she said. "What's yours?"

Markise looked aside at Brindle again. He could have guessed this would happen. She had far too much energy for one person, and being stuck in a compartment for hours was bound to drive her crazy. Markise didn't say anything just yet, but watched the exchange, fully expecting the guy to blow Brindle off. When he did, she'd probably turn back to him. Markise nearly sighed at the thought.

"Ariel," he answered, purely out of habit, staring down at her hand. Then he crunched his nose and pulled his eyes up to her, "I go by Logan." Ariel didn't take her hand, didn't care to show off his sleeve by extending his entire arm across the compartment, so he kept his arms comfortably crossed over his chest. He didn't completely blow her off, but it was enough to show he wasn't exactly interested in her. His eyes darted back over to Kise.

Brindle wasn't sure whether to be offended or just surprised at the guy looking at Markise. The guy didn't look gay. She closed her lips and tightened her arms across her chest, then looked aside at Markise. He was the one who'd started talking to the guy in the first place, so he could answer for himself. Wait...was his name Ariel?

Markise's brow arched slightly, but he made no comment. "I go by Markise," he said. "Excuse my sister, she hasn't yet learned the fine art of keeping things to herself," he warned subtly, throwing a pointed glance at Brindle. Then he turned back to Ariel Logan, reaching up one hand to push lightly at his fringe, which was lavender today, with pale pink highlights and blue tips.
