"It was worth a try," Dare said. Dinner passed pretty quickly, considering how hungry they both were, and it seemed like no time before the dishes were cleaned and Dare was back in the living room. He bent slightly to scoop up the camera, then hid it behind his back, though he knew Michael had probably seen the motion. "What do you say to a photo shoot?" he asked. Considering he had the camera, it had to be obvious who he wanted pictures of.

Michael raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms over his chest. "A photo shoot?" he asked, eying Dare's side where his arm disappeared and where the camera was hiding behind him. He knew what Dare meant by a photo shoot, what he was unsure of was what Dare would want to do. And it seemed like it would be just Michael in the picture, what did Dare have in mind?

Dare played dumb for the moment, edging around the table toward Michael. "Yes, a photo shoot," he repeated. "It's where you do something fun and sexy, and I record it for posterity. Like drawing, only faster." Dare's lips quirked as he stopped just outside of Michael's reach. Michael had said not to ask him to pose for figure drawing, not for pictures. Dare blinked as he suddenly realized how long it had been since Michael had said that. It had been the first day they'd met. And the second, they'd kissed.

Sexy? That was an odd thought for Michael, he didn't get called that, he couldn't remember ever having so much as thought the word in anything remotely relating to himself. He doubted he could do something fun and sexy, even with Dare there behind the camera. "Really," he said, his eyebrow still raised, "And what do you expect me to do?" His eyes sparkled softly as he looked up at Dare.

Exactly what you're doing now, Dare thought, his lips curving slightly. He loved the look of Michael right now, lounging comfortably on antique furniture like he owned the place, faint amusement shining in his eyes. Dare wanted to climb on the couch and kiss him, but he had to take a picture first or Michael won. Dare pulled out the camera, and rather than answer verbally, brought it up and snapped a picture.

Michael shook his head lightly, apparently he was already doing something right, whether he knew it or not. "Was it a bad idea to get you that camera?" he asked, humor showing in his voice and in his eyes. It wasn't hard to imagine Dare carrying it around with him, taking pictures whenever he felt like it. That stack of photos in the kitchen would be nothing compared to the damage Michael felt like Dare could do.

Dare's smile grew crooked as he looked down at Michael. His gaze dropped momentarily at knowing Michael had bought it for him, even if Dare had told himself that Michael had bought it for both of them. When he looked back up, his lips spread into a grin. "Definitely," he said, then climbed up to straddle Michael against the couch, still holding the camera in one hand. "Maybe I'll let you use it some time," he teased.

Michael grinned and let his hands drop to Dare's knees, his eyes darting up to the camera. "So I'm going to have to start watching my back," he said, moving his eyes back to Dare's. It wasn't a stretch to think of being ambushed by a camera-wielding Dare. The thought made his eyes sparkle, though, and maybe, just maybe, he liked the idea of Dare wanting to take pictures of him.

"There's an idea," Dare said, his eyes glittering. Though Michael's clothes weren't really conducive for butt shots. Maybe he'd get him tonight in those teasing pajamas. Dare definitely intended to get some use out of this camera. He leaned forward, giving Michael a light kiss that only just took the edge off everything he was feeling, then held up the camera next to them. "Let's see if this works," he said, pressing himself close to Michael so they'd both fit in the frame.

Michael found one hand moving up Dare's leg as he moved closer and settling on his hip. He tuned out the camera, fighting his instincts to look at it, and focused his eyes on Dare. He decided he would have to get his hands on the camera at some point, Dare couldn't keep all the pictures to himself, Michael wanted a few of Dare, as well. That thought lead to more, about Dare, about what kind of pictures he could take of Dare.

Dare had intended to look at the camera, but the motion of Michael's hand was distracting, and Dare couldn't help looking back at Michael with lightly hazed eyes and a soft smile. He wanted to kiss him, but just one picture first, just one. Dare took that one picture, then set the camera aside on the couch and wrapped his arms around the back of Michael's neck, one hand moving to play idly with the hair at the back of Michael's neck. "I could get used to this," he said. "Staying together, I mean."

Michael closed his eyes as a shiver ran down his spine from that one hand, and he nodded. In all reality he already felt used to it, though it seemed so different staying together in Hogsmeade than it did in the Room of Requirement. It felt so much more real. He opened his eyes and looked up into Dare's, "It's nice being with you." He had lived so much of his life wanting to be alone, to stay away from people, and it was so different with Dare, how Michael wanted to be with him all the time.

"Mmhm," Dare agreed, his blood running faster just from that moment where Michael had closed his eyes. Now, Dare looked into those eyes, loving him, wanting him, and the camera was forgotten again. Dare fought a war with himself then. He wanted to kiss Michael, to press him back against the couch and let go, but he loved this tension, and he wondered how long they could last, how thick it could get without them even doing anything. He couldn't think of anything to say, though.

Michael's fingers slipped up underneath the edge of Dare's shirt. He felt that tension that he was all but addicted to, and he wasn't going to break it if Dare wasn't. But that didn't mean he wouldn't try to get Dare to break. One side of his mouth curved up into a grin and he let his other hand trail up Dare's leg to rest on his other hip. He knew he probably wouldn't last very long, but he was going to try.

Trails of heat shivered through Dare's body at the dual attack, not to mention the mischievous curve of his lips. Dare's breathing slowed, but he didn't look away from Michael. He recognized that Michael had joined the game, and it only made it harder to play. He had half a mind to throw the game, but it was only half a mind. The other half wondered what would happen if he let Michael keep going. Dare's lips curved into a shadow of his crooked smile, and his eyes sparked with interest, but he didn't let himself act, not yet.
