Dare glanced over his shoulder, arching one straight brow at Noelle. He gave her a swift, appraising look, then turned back toward the stairs in front of him. She was definitely hiding something. And a house elf. Were he and Silver the only two in the school who weren't loaded? "Sounds like a well-rounded education," Dare said dryly. He pushed aside the tapestry at the top of the stairs and stepped out onto the ground floor, holding the tapestry aside for Noelle.

"Most of it was a waste of time. Almost everything I learned was from a family friend when I saw him on Holidays. The rest of it was a waste of time. Except for Ireland, that one could've been worth the while. Unfortunately they got shut down by the Ministry for hiding illegal Dragons and using them in our lessons." Noelle said. A smirk tugged at the corners of her mouth. Those were the best lessons.
Noelle stepped through the next opening and paused again so Dare could catch up. She probably should've been keeping notes on how they got to the point they were at, but got side-tracked. "Is this the way you usually get to the library? It seems you know a lot of short-cuts."

"I know a few," Dare said. He hadn't missed that smirk, and his guard, if it had slipped a bit, was back up. "It's a quick way between the ground floor and the dungeons. If you'd kept going the way you were headed, you'd have gotten to a bigger staircase eventually, but then you'd have to cut back again." And he wanted to get her to the library so he could get himself to Michael. "Come on, this way," Dare said. He let the conversation drop and headed down the corridor they'd entered, turning left, and assuming Noelle would follow. Dare knew about a hundred ways to the library, thanks to his brother.

Noelle was about to follow him when something caught her eyes. Above her on the stone wall was a seal that was engraved into the wall. It was very large and very beautiful. Forgetting that Dare had already begun to walk, Noelle stopped and traced the seal with her fingers. It look familiar, but barely. A serpent wrapped around a crown had its jaw opened and was racing another beast that looked equally threatening. She couldn't make out what the other animal was. Noelle took in the picture unaware of where Dare had gone or if he was still there.

Dare got to the next intersection of corridors before glancing behind him, his eyes catching on Noelle some distance away. He repressed a sigh of annoyance. "Are you coming to the library, or not?" he called. Dare turned and headed back toward her. "I could draw you a map in like a minute." He stopped beside her and his gaze reflexively followed hers to the engraving on the wall. He'd seen it several times when he'd been walking this way, but had to admit that it was beautiful. "Are you into art?" Dare asked Noelle absently, looking at the seal himself.

(OOC: sorry it took me a while...)
Noelle nodded slowly without taking her eyes off of the work of art in front of her. She broke her eyes away from it at last, realizing she needed to blink, "Well I can appreciate it. Not so much create it myself. I've never had that ability, but I can appreciate a good work of art." She caught herself. "What about you? Are you interested in art at all?"

((OOC: It's all good. )) Dare arched an eyebrow at Noelle. He was a painted canvas, from his multi-hued hair to his clothes and nails. Not to mention the sketchbook he was carrying. "When I'm in the mood," he said, neglecting to mention that he was almost always in the mood. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. Was this girl really as vague and innocent as she was acting? Dare didn't particularly care.
