Noelle stepped down from the carriage that was pulling itself. She nodded to the man who had greeted her at the Entrance and watched him walk off with her bags. The hood of her velveted green cloak was up to keep as much cool air away as possible and the pathetic farewell note her mother had scribbled was being grasped, crumpled up, in her right hand.
The trip had taken longer than expected, but then again the side trip to Italy didn't help her tardiness. By the time Noelle had arrived at the school, it had been dark for a while.
Noelle sighed and began to walk forward. "Let's get this over with." She mumbled to herself. It was just another school that her parents shipped her off to so they wouldn't have to deal with her. Hogwarts, even the name was revolting. She let the note from her mother slipped from her hands and rolled down the hill.
Noelle opened the huge doors to the school and lowered her hood. She had chosen to keep one bag with her, somewhat of a security blanket. Noelle stopped at the top of the stairs. There were so many stairs. She scanned the bare corridors around her and the empty stairwells below her. She had no clue where to go, and no desire to be there.
