Emilian's eyes widened at that, his mind immediately linking that statement with Michael. "Does Michael wear cherry chapstick?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at the thought. Only after he asked did he realize that Dare hadn't meant it like that, but Emilian couldn't help that that was where his mind went. It was an interesting thought, one that he was sure would come back into his mind in the future.

Dare blinked, then lowered his head a bit, necessitating more concentration to see through his fringe. "No," he said, the word coming out slightly choked with nerves. He hadn't meant it like that. It had been an unconscious statement about one of the things girls did that he liked that most guys didn't do. He only knew one guy who had, and since that was dangerous thinking, Dare tried to push it away. "He doesn't need to, though," Dare settled on.

"You really have it bad," Emilian commented, his voice low enough that it could be ignored if that was what Dare wanted to do. He remembered when Michael had said the same thing to him about Adara. Had he been so obvious? It set his thoughts down the path of Adara instead of Dare and Michael and he fell into silence, absently watching Dare work as he thought.

Dare didn't think that needed a response. He loved Michael, so if Michael's oldest friend was able to see some of that, it just made sense, didn't it? But Emilian couldn't tell any more than that, could he? You really have it bad. It didn't sound like it. It sounded like Emilian thought Dare was just crushing on Michael. But he'd moved past crush more than a month ago. Dare scratched at the paper, letting his drawing distract him, and letting his thoughts flow as they would.

Emilian remained silent and let his mind go where it pleased. It stayed mostly on Adara, though it would occasionally drift over to Dare and Michael. It was becoming more and more powerful to him that he wasn't going to be in Hogsmeade after another couple of days, it wasn't something he would normally have cared about, he hadn't even considered going back home since he had come to Hogwarts. But he was leaving Adara and, he was surprised to find, it would be odd to not see Dare and Michael anymore as well.

Dare didn't speak either. He was absorbed in drawing, and Emilian's facial expression was just right, besides the fact that talking at this point would only make it more difficult to capture the details. Dare didn't relax, but his tension focused on the paper, on the pastels and colored pencils he used in tandem to create exactly what he wanted. When he'd gotten to the point that another stroke would be too much, he looked at his drawing a moment, then raised his head. "Do you want to see it?" he asked, offering the sketchbook to Emilian.

Emilian shifted out of the position he had been in, stretching out the muscles that had been dying to move the past few minutes before taking the book from Dare. It was much different from the ones Dare had drawn of him before, they always seemed to be tense, but the one he held in his hands was peaceful, odd considering the thoughts that had been going through Emilian's mind at the time. "I think," he said, glancing up at Dare, "That Adara will like this very much."

Dare nodded. "I hope so," he said, resisting the desire for explanations. His intent had been to capture Emilian in relaxation, but with enough of that wicked gleam in his eyes that it was unmistakably him. He thought he'd done a decent job getting the easy grace and underlying sexual tension that was Emilian. "I'll bring it back tomorrow, framed like the other for her. Or she could pick it up at school," he ammended, recalling Emilian's admonitions that he wouldn't be available after today.

Emilian's desire to be alone with Adara was at war with his desire to see her reaction to the portrait. "You can bring it here if you want, just don't be offended if you get pushed out soon after," was what he decided on. He really wanted to see what Adara thought of it, and if he waited then he would only get what she wrote in an owl, if that much.

Dare blinked, then dropped his gaze and nodded, choosing not to make any speculation on why he'd be pushed out. "I won't," he said. "I'll just drop it off and go." He wouldn't mind that at all, actually. Dare raised his head and looked out the window, towards the castle he could see in the distance, where Michael was. He wanted to see him again, even if they'd seen each other last night. But still, it seemed like no matter how much time they spent together, it was never enough. Dare didn't realize his mind had wandered.

Emilian handed the book back to Dare and stood to switch out again, pulling his shirt back on. He opened his mouth to say something else but stopped when he saw the way Dare was looking out the window. "I'm not keeping you, you know," he said, raising an eyebrow. He about said something about getting back to Michael and that cherry chapstick, but held his tongue.

Dare blinked, his gaze focusing, then swinging to Emilian. He blinked again, then dropped his gaze. "I know, I was just...waiting for you to be done with my sketchbook," Dare said, looking down with some surprise to see that he'd apparently taken it without even noticing. He cleared his throat. "I guess I'll go...see if Michael's done with his stuff," he said, hoping it didn't sound as transparent as he thought it did. "But thank you," he added, looking back up at Emilian. "For letting me draw you, and Adara. I hope you'll let me draw you again. Maybe the two of you together when you come back or something?"

Emilian smirked, unsure if Dare would really want to draw him and Adara together during his visits home. "You're welcome, and thank you for the portrait," he said. "And are you sure you'll want to draw us when I come back?" Somehow, Emilian didn't think that Michael would like that very much. He didn't know that he was going to even want company anyway.

Dare didn't blink this time, but nodded. "I would," he said, then glanced away. "Maybe not right when you get back, but some time..." He'd drawn them separately to what he considered great success, so the next step seemed to be drawing them together. "Unless you want to try that figure drawing," Dare suggested, his lips curving slightly as though he weren't half serious. Dare glanced at Emilian, curious how he'd react.

Emilian grinned at that, he wasn't exactly against it, but, "I don't think neither Adara nor Michael would like that very much." He shrugged slightly but resisted putting out the idea that they could just do it without them knowing. "You have Michael for that, now, anyway." Though, he really couldn't see Michael going for it.
