First Drama Club Meeting

[Riley Ravenesa]

Riley rushed down the hall. She couldn't believe how late she was. She had fallen asleep and had just woken up and realized what time it was. She had quickly ran a brush through her hair and staightened out her clothes before rushing out of the common room and to the empty class room where they had the drama meetings. She quietly opened the door and seeing that a lot of people were already there she blushed a little. She hated being late but she walked in anyway and smiled at everyone.
"Sorry I am late," she said, "I am Riley for anyone who doesn't know me."
She looked around the room. She only knew like two people. She knew Dare who had invited her to the club and she kind of knew Anna but that was pretty much it. She walked over to where the desks were lined up against the wall and sat on one.
"What did I miss?" she asked.

Dare's lips curved at Riley's entrance. "We were just talking about how much experience we had with drama," Dare explained. "Anna's been in a few school plays, Ryan's been in a few of those and community theater, I've been in a couple, Lucretia and me and Anna are into roleplaying, and Sylvia's been in a few, plus she's done costumes and stagecraft, and Ryan's run tech and directed." Dare gestured toward each person as he briefly listed their accomplishments, using the motion to introduce them as well. We were just about to pair up for some activities, and now that you're here, we've got even numbers, so it'll all work out."

[Annabelle Hennessy]

Anna smiled at the new addition to the group and stepped forward so she wasn't hugging the wall and was ready to begin. "So how does this work?" She asked Dare, pushing aside any lingering thoughts and focusing on the current task. She was ready to begin; eager to start the hobby she rarely had the opportunity to divulge in.

"Well, we'll pair up, and you can just talk, and move. Stand facing each other, about three feet apart. One of you is the leader, the other the "mirror." Moving only from the waist up, the leader makes simple gestures or movements. The "mirror" duplicates the leader's movments exactly--just like a mirror would. The goal is to mirror your partner perfectly. Try to look at each other's eyes, not your hands, because you'll communicate better that way. After we've been at it a while, you can switch leaders." Dare looked around at the small group, thinking, then assigned partners. "Anna, you can go with Lucretia, Sylvia with Riley, and I'll take Ryan. Everyone cool with that?"

Riley smiled and nodded, "Sure. Sounds great," and she walked over to Sylvia. "Hi," she said quietly. . She looked down at her hadns hoping she wasn't blushing. She wasn't very much of a people person. "So do you want to be leader or should I?" she asked politely.

[Lucretia 'Storm' Seyrrou]

She nodded her head and turned to the Ravenclaw she supposed was Anna. Somehow she was supposed to know this girl, but she wasn't sure how. Right now it really didn't matter, she was here just to have fun nothing more.

"Hey, mirror or leader?" she asked casually hoping that she had a warm look on her face rather than a scowl from thinking about her parents.

Anna turned to the girl speaking to her. She was about to introduce herself, but apparently Lucretia had already known who she was so the introduction would have been redundant. "I'll let you lead first." Anna smiled as she turned to stand in front of Lucretia. She threw a glance over her shoulder at Dare before focusing her attention on the exercise.

Jewes had gotten lost already. She had just transferred from Magic International and was now trying to find her way to wherever she needed to be. Passing by a corrider she had seen something about a drama club and now it seeed she was in the doorway of it. Drama had always been extreamly fun for her so walking in she decided to join.
Of course, just her luck it looked as if this meeting was already going on. "Excuse me," Jewels said,"Mind if I join?"

Dare's brows rose at the interruption. He hadn't expected anyone else to be here. Especially someone he didn't at all recognize. He excused himself to Ryan and gestured for the girl to come forward. "There's always room for more," he said. It was funny how many people had ended up joining, especially considering he'd thought the school was dead.

Relaxing a little Jewels walked in some more, "Thanks, I'm Jewels by the way. What have I missed?" That seemed to be a good question since by the looks of it she missed a lot. Oh well, looking around Jewels saw a bunch of unfamiliar faces. This might not be bad...more people for her to get to know!

Dare gestured for Ryan to join one of the other pairs as a group, then crossed toward the girl. "Not much," he said, looking back into the room. "We were just staring something." Dare tucked his thumbs into the pockets of the skinny jeans he wore and looked down at the girl through his fringe. "What's your name? If you want to join, I'll sign you up. Oh, and I'm Dare," he added. He wondered if she was new. He'd been here since May, but he wouldn't presume to know everyone at the school.

"I'm Jewels, nice to meet you Dare." Jewels smiled, this was going to be easier than she thought, "I just transferred schools so a club might be a refreshing way to meet people. You can sign me up!" Considering the size of this school and her old one a club would certainly be a refreshing thing.
