A low chuckle came from Michael's throat and his hands curled around Dare's waist as he returned the kiss. He knew that Dare hadn't been likely to up and leave, it hadn't felt like the other times had. Too much had happened, he thought, to end the day, too much good as well as bad, though he focused on the good, the confessions. The intensity and the intimacy they had shared through the course of the day.

The rest of the night passed in much the same fashion. They kissed, then talked and just enjoyed things, then kissed again, until sometime near dawn. Then, as they lay together, they fell asleep on the rug in front of the couch. It was late morning when a persistent ringing cut through the peaceful silence. Dare's eyes shot open, but it took him a moment to get his bearings. One arm was curled up under his head, the other slung across Michael, warm with sleep.
He was incredibly comfortable, but the ringing went on until Dare realized it was an alarm, and then, why it was going off. "Crap! The test!" Dare tensed for one painful moment before dragging himself up and hitting the alarm off, then turned to start gathering up his things, muttering complaints about bad timing under his breath.

Michael didn't remember falling asleep, or making the decision to stay in the Room of Requirement the whole night with Dare. But he didn't complain when he blinked open his eyes and saw Dare scrambling around. He blinked a few more times and then stretched, not understanding why Dare was so frantic. Then it clicked that there was something going on, that there had to be a reason, and he remembered that it was a school day. Only then did he pull himself up from the floor to work out muscles stiff from the floor.

Dare saw Michael's movement from the corner of his eye just as he got his art box tucked away and slid the silver quill into his back pocket. Dare closed the space between them and wrapped his arms around Michael, pulling him close. "I know I said I'd ditch, but I've got a charms test, and I'm really not doing well enough to miss it," he said apologetically. "I kick ass at transfiguration, but..." he gave half a shrug and pressed a light kiss to Michael's lips, letting the rest of his sentence go unsaid. Charms weren't his forte.

Michael returned the kiss and when he pulled away shrugged slightly, "It's fine, you don't have to ditch for me." He didn't really intend to let him ditch, at least not anything important, just to go swimming. "I can live without you for long enough to take your test," he promised, giving a small smile, and his eyes sparkled as he tightened his arms around Dare for a moment.

Dare couldn't help smiling back. "Are you sure?" he teased. Just then, the alarm went off again, and Dare glared fiercely at it. Then, he forcibly ignored it for just a minute to give Michael a proper goodbye kiss that set his blood running, and escaped the room with a grin, and enough energy to last him at least the next hour, hopefully.
