Anna shook her head, "No I haven't seen him in a few days. Is something wrong?" Anna noticed Dru wasn't herself, and wondered what Silver had to do with it. It made sense that Dru knew him, seeing that they were all in the same house, and Anna wondered how Dru, Seth, and Silver were connected, since she made it sound like Seth knew Silver. She glanced towards Seth before focusing back on Dru.

Dare's gaze dropped to his journal, his fringe sweeping back across his face as he shook his head. His lips tightened slightly as he set his quill to the page and began drawing a familiar vine pattern with stylized leaves. He wished Silver had bothered to tell him what the excuse was this time; without it, he couldn't risk saying something and screwing everything up. He also didn't want Anna to know he was Silver's brother. Dare began contemplating a quick escape at that moment, though he wasn't to the point yet where he'd actually act on it. He just prayed that Dru wouldn't give him away.

Dru shrugged, tucking her arms in on her stomach before speaking. "We got together last week," she said, wondering absently how Dare would react. "And I had the pleasure of informing Chase earlier." Her eyes went to the paper Dare was drawing on, watching the lines form, changing into a pattern as he went on. She cringed slightly as the memory of his words came back to her.

"That's great, Silver seems like a really nice guy." Anna said cheerfully, partly relieved that Dru had someone else in her life. "But what does that have to do with Chase? Haven't you two been split up for a long time?" Anna knew she'd heard that they had parted ways, and Chase hadn't mentioned Dru, so she assumed the rumors had been true. She wondered now by Dru's actions whether something was still between them, and her stomach twisted in knots at the thought.
Anna chewed on her lip, over analyzing what little information she had. She knew Chase was the sort to go around doing whatever pleased him, but why wouldn't he say something if he was still talking with or seeing Dru? How could he not tell her after the things she'd shared with him, or the time she'd spent with him? She gave a small sigh, waiting for more information before she continued on that train of thought and judged him.

Dare's head rose from his paper at Dru's announcement, and he turned to look at her before remembering that, since he wasn't Dare, he was therefore not Silver's brother, and shouldn't show too much interest. He glanced at Anna again, then turned back to his drawing, keeping his lips pressed tight. He'd just stay quiet and listen, and maybe they'd forget he was here. Dare mentally rolled his eyes at himself for his Silveresque behavior.

"Technically," Dru answered Anna, "But we've still been seeing each other. He tried to get me to be with him instead of Silver." She huddled in a little farther into the corner of the couch, as though to hide from the memory of his harsh words, "I told him no and he..." She sighed as the words flooded back over her, her eyes closed and she let her head fall against the back of the couch, trying to wait out the flood.

Anna waited for Dru to continue, hanging on to her every word. When it became apparent that she’d say no more, Anna’s mind tried to fill in the blanks. Had Chase tried to seduce Dru, or was it something completely different? It didn’t even make sense for Chase to stop them from dating since he was so against monogamous relationships to begin with. “I’m so sorry Dru.” Anna said without thinking. She wasn’t even sure what she meant; if she was sorry for Dru being in the situation, or for her own involvement with Chase.

Dare's head rose again at Dru's silence. "He what?" With Silver unavailable, Dare reflexively took on the role of protector for...his brother's girlfriend, as strange as that sounded. His boyfriend's ex, even stranger. It struck Dare then that he was more or less trapped in a room with the people Michael had loved--including him. The irony was less than amusing. Dare turned back to his drawing, trying to feign casual interest, and hoping he could somehow just fade into the brick. At least they weren't talking about Michael.

"He kissed me," Dru said, "And said some things." She didn't care to repeat his words, the vast majority of which had been putting her down for her choice. "He wasn't very happy with me," she added needlessly. She had been disappointed when she hadn't found Silver, though she couldn't hold it against him, she had said it was fine. She looked away, "I was really hoping to talk to Silver."

"He kissed you even though you said you had a boyfriend?" Anna blushed as the words came out of her mouth when she realized he'd kissed her when she had one. "But that didn't stop him before so I guess it wouldn't now." She looked down at her book, afraid the others would see her change in color. She didn't know how many people knew why her and Michael had broken up, and hoped that no one thought it was because of her and Chase kissing.

"From what I hear, he's a total jackass," Dare said, then glanced apologetically up at Dru. "No offense," he added. He'd also been told what it was that Chase used to persuade girls, and he wasn't about to say it, so he shut his mouth again, and went back to his drawing. Being invisible was a hell of a lot harder than it was supposed to be.

Dru grimaced slightly, but nodded, "He's not worth the effort." She couldn't tell herself that those were honest words, because she still had feelings for him, but she was trying to convince herself they were true. "Glad I got it over with, but it was horrible while it was happening." She had hated the whole thing, and she kept having to remind herself it was right, and would all work out.

"He has his good points too though." Annabelle grimaced, realizing she'd said that out loud. She chewed on her lower lip, staring at the back cover of her book and refused to make eye contact. She knew it was true that Chase didn't like to be tied down, but it's not like he kept it a secret. He'd been completely honest about his views on relationships and emotions, so it's not like she could suddenly hold it against him. If she was truthful with herself, Anna would admit that Dru's news bothered her, but she kept pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind.

Dare snorted at Anna's words, then, catching himself, cleared his throat. "Ignore me," he said. "I've never even met the guy." No, but he knew him by reputation, and from what his brother had said about the one time he'd met Chase. He sounded like a controlling bastard. Dare's quill moved faster as he drew, distracting himself from the subject, since he didn't really know anything about it.

Dru remained silent on that point, because she would either lie or make her situation worse by saying anything about it. "What were you guys doing before I came in here and started in with my problems?" she asked, hoping that a change of subject would help, perhaps it could distract her from the day's events, though it would come back in an instant if there was a lull in conversation.
