Emilian nodded, the soft smile still on his lips. "She's special," he said, then caught what he said and looked over at Dare. "So is there anything for me to look at of her?" he asked, tucking the note back into his pocket. They had said that they had met up with her to draw, and he wondered if anything was done enough for him to look at or not.

Dare let out a relieved rush of breath and lifted his head, though his eyes still didn't meet Emilian's. "I've got a page of sketches," he said, latching onto the change in subject. He leaned forward, offering his sketchbook to Emilian. "It's the one back from that one," he said. "Without...knowing her well, or knowing what you wanted, I just did a quick study."

Michael was thankful for the change in subject, and the chance it gave him to fade into the background. He let his eyes trail to the window, focusing on the view outside. He hoped they weren't there for much longer, he was ready to leave, to get out of the tension that he had been feeling the whole day, even before leaving the gates, and that had only been compounded as the day went on.

Emilian only spared a few moments for the drawing of himself, just enough to give an appreciative nod to Dare's skill before pulling the next page back to cover it with images of Adara. His eyes softened as he looked at them, each one calling to a different part of him. One made him think of his Princess from the Masquerade while another was so obviously that look she gave when she wanted him.
Then the one in the middle pulled it all together, the Adara he knew so well. He was silent for a couple minutes before speaking, "I love this one," he said, pointing to the middle, though he didn't relenquish the book just yet. He wasn't ready to give up the images of his Adara, his eyes trailed over it again, taking in everything he could. "This one, as well," he said, his finger moving to the bottom left of the page.

Dare leaned further, looking to see which ones Emilian had pointed out, then nodding. The one in the center was his personal favorite, but the second one Emilian chose gave him a better idea of what direction to take. "I can have a couple actual drawings for next time," he offered, wondering if he ought to ask for his book back, or just wait. He opted to wait. It seemed safer, considering the tenuous balance of things.

Next time. How would the next time turn out? Michael didn't know, but he hoped it went better than this time had, it should, since they would be apparating instead of walking, therefore there would be less tension. He sensed the end of the meeting drawing near and closed his book, not caring that he wasn't finished, there would always be next time.

Emilian nodded, "Alright, I'll hold you to that." He glanced up at Dare with a small smile on his lips. After another few long seconds of staring at the pictures, at Adara staring up at him, he handed the book back to Dare and stood, heading over to the drawer that held his parchment, quill, and ink. He pulled out what he needed and went back to sit on the couch, spreading the parchment out in front of him to begin.

A smile, thank God. Dare exhaled another long breath as he shut his sketchbook and set it aside, then turned to start gathering his pencils. He didn't think past the momentary relief until his gaze shifted to seek Michael and found him looking miserable. Dare's brows knitted in a mixture of concern and guilt. He hoped he hadn't ruined everything.

Michael felt a thread of guilt when he turned his head and saw Dare's expression. His own eyebrows came together and he looked back down at his book, tracing the lines on the cover with his finger, feeling the rise in the center where he had closed his pencil in. He silently willed Emilian to hurry, he wanted to talk to Dare, to tell him to not beat himself up over what he had said.

Emilian felt their tension, but not enough to make him think too long on it, not when he was focusing on the ink flowing from the tip of his quill for Adara. There was always next time for him to examine Dare and Michael. No matter how intrigued he was by them, he could wait. After a few minutes he was finished and stood to put the quill and ink away. "Can I assume the same time next week?"

Dare blinked, his gaze snapping away from Michael to Emilian. "Yeah, sure," he said, then dropped his gaze to his sketchbook again. He couldn't imagine Michael would want to come with him again after how miserable it had been this time. He could, however, imagine Michael having noticed what an idiot Dare had been all day and deciding he didn't need that.

Michael stood, tucking his book under his arm and looking at Emilian. "Do you have any anti-apparation spells around here, or are we good?" he asked. It would be easier if there wasn't, but it was probably something that Emilian had up. He took the few steps to where Emilian and Dare were, though he forcefully kept his eyes from meeting Dare's, knowing that it would give away too much and that they would shortly be alone again.

"I've got one, but I can take it down, and I'll let it down an hour or so before I expect you next week just to be sure," Emilian said, walking through the tension and flicking a questioning glance up at Michael before bending down to fold his note. He handed it to Dare naturally, considering that, though Michael was friends with Adara, Dare would be the one to definitely see her the soonest.

Dare took the note without so much as a flickering glance up, and tucked it away in his art box. He didn't see a need to try speaking again, so he kept his lips pressed shut as he stood, hiding away his box with a flick of his wand. He glanced up at Michael, then down at the floor, and headed toward him, stopping a safe distance away and holding his ground until he was directed further. In truth, even aside from the worry of accidentally revealing something in front of Emilian, he was also afraid of Michael's reaction; his imagined rejection. Dare kept his wand handy, more than ready to disillusion himself.

Michael pulled out his wand, "Take it off, we'll leave and you can put it back on as quickly as possible." He hit his head with his wand, and was rewarded by feeling the cool trickles running down his head and body. When he went to put his wand away he saw that it had worked. He waited a second to be sure and then took the remaining steps closer to Dare to take his free hand. It was both logical, once they were both invisible it would be harder to find a hand to hold, and a comfort that Michael had needed since leaving the gates.
