The walk had been incredibly long. Michael's hand grounded him, and though he wanted the feel of their palms pressed against one another, he made do with what he'd been offered. No need to draw any further attention to themselves, after all.
It was a few days sooner than expected when he entered the shop, but apparently not a day too soon. Things had certainly progressed since the last time he'd been to Hogsmeade.

Michael pulled them to a stop just inside the door and, after looking around to see that Emilian wasn't in the main room, turned to Dare. "Are you alright?" he asked softly, examining his eyes. Physically, he knew that Dare was fine, but Michael needed the verbal confirmation. He let his hand fall, tucking his thumb in his pocket as he watched Dare's face.

Dare dropped his gaze, but nodded. "Yeah, I just...that was a little more than I'd expected." Two guys more than he'd expected, and almost immediately outside the gates. "They took my quill!" It felt like a sad attempt to lighten the mood, but really; had they needed to take it? Dare lifted his eyes to Michael, hoping he saw the humor.

Michael let a small smile take his lips, "Yeah, I know. I'll get you a new one." His eyes sparkled faintly and he turned towards the inside of the shop. "Emilian?" he called, knowing that it wouldn't do to stand inside the shop without calling. He walked a little farther in, trying not to focus too much on what had happened, though they would end up telling Emilian anyway.

Emilian huffed slightly in the back room where he was checking a newly arrived box of jewellery and walked out to the main room, stopping when he saw that the voice was who he thought it was. But why was Michael there with Dare? "You're earlier than I expected," he said, "And I wasn't aware we were having an audience today."

With effort, Dare resisted the urge to look to Michael for confirmation. "I told him what was going on and he figured he'd come along," Dare said, hoping that was enough of an explanation for Emilian. "And I have a letter from Adara." That would probably excuse his being early. Dare glanced out the windows of the shop, then looked back at Emilian. "I probably shouldn't give it to you here," he added.

"We were stopped," Michael said as an explanation for Dare's addition. He knew that Emilian would have questions for them when they got upstairs, but Michael agreed with Dare, he'd rather not talk in the main part of the shop. And with the prodding of the promise of contact with Adara, he didn't think that Emilian would have a problem with moving them upstairs.

Emilian's eyes lightened at the thought of a letter from Adara then immediately darkened at the confirmation that there were people in town. He had heard from the man that owned one of the stores he frequented, but it had just been rumor. He gestured to them and flicked his wand to the door, locking it, then led them up the stairs. magikal05.proboards46.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=jlounge&thread=3533
