It was a dreadfully hot summer day. The humidity of the air had increased since she had last walked out of the castle and it only seemed to continue to increase. There wasn't a single breeze in the air but outside was still far better then inside the castle. It was like an oven in there. Aggie staggered out, pulling at the red crimson tie around her neck. Her blouse's sleeves were rolled up as far as they could go, to her elbow and her stockings and shoes had been ditched for bright yellow flip flops. She wiggled her toes and sighed miserably. Walking toward the only place that had any shade. The lake.
Once she got to the lake she nearly collapsed by the tree, laying flat on her belly, her feet swung absently in the air back and forth as she picked at the dandelions. It was too hot to do anything but relax in the shade.. so this was exactly what she was doing. She wasn't sure where Josh was nor did she care. These days it was the other way around and she was avoiding him. He was probably more happier that way anyway. Stupid.. know it all.. she grumbled in her head.

Sitting under the tree by the lake, head buried in a thick book, Violet heard something. She looked up suddenly, and peered around the tree trunk. She spied a Gryffindor girl with bright yellow flip flops collapsed under the same tree. Violet wondered silently to herself if the girl knew she was there. She wondered, but did not dare to speak. She didn't want to take the risk of pain she had taken before hen trying to make friends.
Violet knew she shouldn't care about this girl. She knew she shouldn't want this girl to see her. She knew she should just ignore this other presence under the tree. But even so, Violet turned the pages of her book slightly louder than before.

As Gwen trekked around the lake, the sun cassaded down her face. Even with her cooling charm she had her sleeves rolled up and tie hanging loosely off her neck. Today was a hot day. She held a small book in her hands as she continued walking.
Soon afterward she decided to look for shade, squinting she looked around. She spotted one of her dorm mates and a Gryffindor sitting close together, and feeling unusually brave and out of character she decided to walk over.
"Care to share the shade?" She said cheerfully as she announced her presence.
