Michael shrugged, debating whether he should answer. It was bad, in a sense, if Adara's father found out that they were getting around him, they could be in trouble. If, there was no if, he would find out, the moment the man realized they had left and he hadn't seen them he would know. "So long as we don't piss off Adara's father we're good," he settled on, "I can only imagine you after we come back to the castle the first time, so excited that you're doing something dangerous." His tone of voice was teasing and his lips curved.

Dare grinned. "Danger? I laugh in the face of danger," he said, randomly quoting from another movie Michael wouldn't have seen. He shook his head at himself. "Really, I'm sure we'll be fine, though. We're not really doing anything, just passing love notes, right?" Not that he intended to look at any letters, but it was easy enough to guess. It didn't occur to Dare that passing love notes was enough. For all that his dad was from the Pureblood circle, he really didn't know much about it.

And purposefully avoiding the appointed guard, Michael added in his mind. "Considering her father probably doesn't want them to contact each other...." he trailed off and shook his head. "As long as he doesn't figure it out we'll be fine." Somehow, Michael didn't think that Adara's father would take very well to the idea of someone helping her keep in contact with Emilian.

"We'll be fine, then," Dare said. "I mean, putting it on an art flier was pretty awesome. We'll be fine," he said again. Maybe he was trying to convince Michael, or maybe not. Dare could feel whatever it was that Michael was keeping to himself, and wondered what it was he knew, or wasn't saying. That light feeling of worry rubbed off on him, even if he wasn't entirely sure what it was for. He preferred to think they had everything covered.

Michael nodded, though he wasn't so much worried that they would find the notes as he was that they would find them suspicious and try to hunt them down. He hated that he was falling back into worry, but it was hard not to. "After we get it over with this first time it'll be good." He hoped the man wouldn't notice that they were visiting more than once.

Dare nodded, and fell into silence. There wasn't much to say about things that hadn't already been said; all they'd be doing was going over it, working it into dirt and stewing it until they made themselves sick. It took him a while to realize the breeze had grown cooler. Had they really been out that long? But yes, they'd had classes before Adara had come, and then he'd drawn for a while even before she'd left. It seemed like time had flown since then. Dare turned his gaze back to Michael and squeezed his hand. "It's late," he said. He didn't want to end things for the day, but it was going to hapen eventually.

Michael looked up at the sky and sighed, "Yeah, we should probably go in." Not that he really wanted to, he would have been fine hiding out and sneaking in later, but he had a feeling that Dare wouldn't go for that. He was comforted by assuring himself that he would see Dare again soon enough. Michael didn't move to get up, though he knew he needed to. To try to expand his time with Dare just a bit longer, Michael leaned over to meet Dare's lips one more time.

Dare fell right in with Michael's distraction, his lips parting in welcome. It was a few minutes later before he remembered that they were supposed to be going back up to the castle. He grinned as the kiss drew to an end, his eyes glittering as they opened to meet Michael's. "You're good," he said, ostentatiously referring to Michael's stalling tactics, though he could have meant the kiss just as easily.

Michael raised an eyebrow, his own eyes sparkling as he grinned, "Well thank you." After another moment he stood and picked up his book, tucking it under his arm as he watched Dare. His tongue ran absently over his lips, tasting a few lingering traces of Dare which only brought a wider smile to his face. He offered his hand to help Dare up if he'd take it, wanting to take advantage of any contact he could.

"No; thank you," Dare said, watching the path of Michael's tongue a bit more avidly than perhaps he should have. He took the opportunity Michael had offered him, letting Michael pull him to his feet. His smile didn't seem to be fading as he bent to retrieve his sketchbook, the silver feather in his pocket bobbing in the breeze the moment before he straightened and turned back, eyes glittering. He hadn't thought of that moment he'd caught Michael watching, but all the same, he moved close again, stealing just one more kiss.

Michael once again caught himself watching the dancing feather, and he didn't look away until Dare turned back to him. He let his hand come up to run through Dare's hair as he returned the kiss before pulling away, his hand falling to Dare's. They walked to the castle in a comfortable silence and when they went through the doors, parted after another quick kiss.
