Adara nodded. "I will leave it to you, then." She looked down at her hands a moment then, her lip finding its way between her teeth. "I hate to ask you to bring something to Emilian for me, especially after...what happened last time." Adara took a moment to collect herself before going on. "But if you are going to see him...could I ask? Just this once?" She had written the note already, in hope rather than presumption, but all the same, it seemed presumptuous to ask.

Michael glanced over at Dare, that was the reasoning that had won Michael over, passing notes between the two of them. Then he brought his eyes back down to his paper to put on a few more details. He wasn't looking forward to going to see Emilian, though it would be interesting to see his reaction when he saw that they had brought something from Adara.

Dare met Michael's eyes, then turned his gaze back to Adara. "I'll take something to him," he volunteered. He kept in mind that they'd only be walking one way; he'd have Michael with him, and they could apparate back to the gates. Just this one more walk, and it'd be that much easier in the future.

Adara's lips curved into a grateful smile. "Thank you so much," she said, slipping her hand into a hidden pocket at the side of her skirt to retrieve a folded square of parchment. "The ink will need to be revealed to be readable," she said. It was a basic spell, but the reverse side of the note was one of the art club fliers, Adara pointed out. "I hope you do not mind, but I thought that it might be less noticeable that way."

Michael looked up at her approvingly, it would be helpful, just in case they were stopped on the way in. He figured if they were the man would just assume it was the flier, nothing more, and wouldn't try to take it. If Emilian was as bad off as Dare had implied the day before, he needed the note. "Good thinking," he commented, closing his book and stashing his charcoal away.

Dare nodded in agreement with Michael's sentiment. "I'll make sure he gets it." He tucked the note away, then evanesco'd his art box. "So, next week, then," he said to Adara. He made no reference to any possible danger anyone might be facing, but pushed the subject aside. They were being careful, and it was all they could do.

"Thank you again," Adara said, rising to her feet. She made her farewells, then turned and headed back to the castle, already lost again to thoughts of Emilian.

Michael watched Adara leave then turned his eyes to Dare. "I'm interested to see him read whatever it is she's written," he said, his mind going back to how Emilian had looked when he was talking about Adara. Then his mind went back to the emotions that had been obvious in Adara's eyes when she had spoken about Emilian. "It's really amazing how the two of them have gotten so close."

Dare turned his gaze away from Adara's disappearing form to Michael. "It's crazy intense," he said. "If they're like this a day apart, I can't even imagine how they are together." He gave a grimace at remembering Michael had walked in on them once. "Sorry," Dare said. "You probably didn't need to hear that." Still, he hoped he'd get to see them together, the sooner the better. That kind of interaction would give him a good feel for what they'd want out of the portrait.

Michael shrugged, "I never imagined Emilian settling down willingly with someone and actually having feelings for them." It hadn't bothered him when he had walked in on Adara and Emilian, it wasn't the first time he had ever walked in on Emilian in a compromising position. "But they're just....you're right, intense, there's no other word for it. I think Emilian loves her, I honestly do." However wrong it felt to say it.

Dare didn't doubt that. Of course, he didn't know Emilian the way Michael did; Dare only really knew him from Michael's stories and two meetings, one of which Emilian had been sulking about Adara during. Dare just shook his head, unable to add anything intelligent to Michael's words. He was looking at everything from an outsider's point of view, though all things considered, he seemed to be getting dragged in rather easily, and possibly a little too willingly.

Michael accepted the silence for a few long seconds before moving on from that train of thought, "Think she was on to us?" he asked, grinning. The things she had said could have been interpreted as a tease, even if he had seen the honest gleam in her eyes when she had spoken of his dear friend. He let his eyes trail over Dare's face, those moments of Adara looking away playing in his mind.

"My God, she was completely oblivious, wasn't she?" Dare asked, only then raising his eyes to see Michael grinning. He could almost read Michael's thoughts then, from the play of light in his eyes to the path of his gaze. Dare's lips curved. "I think I could have done this," he said, leaning forward to press a teasing kiss against Michael's lips, "and she wouldn't have noticed." Dare's hand rose, smoothing against Michael's jaw. "She might have noticed this, though..." He caught Michael's lower lip lightly between his teeth, then parted them in the beginnings of a kiss filled with everything he'd held back last time he'd wanted to do this.

Michael had grinned after the teasing kiss, but kept from replying by words and the feel of teeth on his lip. It didn't take any prodding for him to return the kiss, for his lips to open against Dare's and his eyes to close. He had come to crave it, almost like a drug, he just hoped he wouldn't grow out of it and that the intensity wouldn't leave.

The kiss was loose, open, and near ecstatic, and Dare drank it in eagerly. He still marveled at the knowledge that Michael was his, that somehow they'd moved from that awkward moment in the forest where Dare had impulsively tried to kiss an unwilling Michael, to this moment, where that undertone of tension between them fed on itself, even as they relieved it. Dare's hand at Michael's cheek slid, moving back to spear lightly into the hair at the base of Michael's neck, holding him close, stroking against him.
