Waiting with a surprise (Kadie)

[Jacob Cullen]

Jacob stood at the edge of the forest, a huge grin on his face, but a nervous pitter-patter in his chest. He didn't know why he was nervous, he had already done the hard part and won the girl over. Still though..........exspecially with Kadie............what if the Snow Queen came back? Would he be able to tame her again? He sighed, and kicked at the dirt as he waited for her to arrive. He was wearing the only formal dress he had, a black button down that was two sizes to big for him, which had been passed down to him by his father, and a pair of khaki pants, that were badly in need of a press. He didn't have time for his clothes though. He was too busy throughout the day setting up for his surprise in the forest. He smiled again as he thought about it, and waited patiently for his date to arrive.

Her hair, she'd changed back to blond, and she wondered if Jacob would like it. She did her makeup, and her hair and then grabbed her bag.

She made her way outside and smiled as she saw Jacob. She walked up to him and gave him a light kiss.

"Hey," she said softly.

Jacob smiled as he saw Kadie approach him in the distance. As she neared, he noticed how exspecially beautiful she looked tonight. She had really gone all out for him. His heart fluttered as he recieved her kiss, and he immediately took her hand. "Hey to you. You look gorgeous tonight hun, and I love what you have done to your hair. I can't wait to be dazzled by it in the sunlight." He grinned at Kadie, and squeezed her hand a little. "Come on. The night is young, and I have something special planned."

Kadie smiled at his compliments.

"You look good yourself," she complimented with a slight wink. She squeezed his hand back.

"Alright, I can't wait to see what you've got planned," she said with a dazzling smile. It was amazing to her that he would go to this kind of trouble. She was sure that he must have. She was curious as to see what his surprise or surprises or whatever, could possibly be.

Jacob smiled at Kadie, and began to walk towards the forest. He stopped suddenly though, and hit himself on the head with his free hand. "Oh my! I almost forgot!" Jacob turned around, and looked in Kadie's eyes, a twinkle in his own. He reached into his pocket, and pulled a black handkerchief out of his pocket. He smiled, and walked behind Kadie, and tied the handkerchief over her eyes. He walked in front of Kadie, and waved in her face. "You can't have a surprise without being blindfolded! Can you see me now?"

She laughed as he covered her eyes with a handkerchief. What was this? What was going on here?

"I really cannot see you," she assured him.

"What are you up to Jacob?" she asked, not able to help the laugh that bubbled from her lips.

Jacob smiled, and took hold of both of Kadie's hands, leading her slowly into the forest. "You'll see hun. Just stay close to me. We'll be on a path, but it will still be a little rocky." Jacob turned around, and put both of Kadie's hands onto his waist, holding them close, as he walked slowly, deeper into the forest.

She nodded simply, and stayed close to him. He put her arms around his waist and she didn't complain any.

"So, what can you tell me about what we're doing?" she asked with a laugh. She knew that she just needed to be patient, that he'd show her in good time, but she was like a little child when it came to surprises and such, she just couldn't wait.

Jacob rubbed Kadie's hands in his own as he continued to pick his way through the forest, being careful to pull tree branches aside for Kadie. "Well.............." Jacob thought about what he could say that wouldn't give away his surprise. "It is.................surprising." Jacob chuckled a little under his breath, as he kicked away a particuarly large rock.

She couldn't help but laugh.

"That's all, is that it's surprising?" she asked with a grin.

"Alright, alright, I'll be patient," she said with a grin. But then after she said that, she wanted to know how much further it was.

"How much father is it?" she questioned.

Jacob smiled. "Not to much farther. Didn't want to put it to far out, plus I had to find the perfect location." Jacob could already hear the soft pitter-patter of water on water, and his grin widened.

She perked up as she began to hear water.

"The perfect location for what?" she asked with a laugh.

Jacob smiled, for he knew they were close, and as they rounded the corner, boom! They were there! It didn't even look like the forest, and it was hard to imagine that such a place could exsist in such a dreary place, but that was why it was called a surprise. It was a clearing, quite a large clearing, with beautiful wildflowers littering the ground. A small table with two chairs rested in a gazzebo that was hung with ivy. Upon the table rested their covered dinner. The main focal point was the large waterfall that had been constructed, splashing down into a crystal clear lake. As he lead her across the field, Jacob eyed the lamps that been strategically placed, filled with blue flames. He stopped on the edge of the lake, and turned to Kadie. He kissed her hands, and then let them go. "Okay hun. Open your eyes."

She got rid of the blindfold and opened her eyes when he told her that she could. Her eyes adjusted and then they widened at the scene.

"Wow. Jacob..........it's beautiful," she whispered as she kissed his cheek. She eyed the dinner and the lamps and then turned to him with a soft glow in her eyes.

"You did all of this..........for me?" she questioned him. Oh yeah, he would for sure get points for that. It was all so beautiful, and she loved the waterfall. She was surprised that she'd never found this place when she went off exploring in the forbidden forest so much. But she was somehow glad that she'd never found it before. It was perfect knowing about it now.

Jacob couldn't help but be exstatic about Kadie's reaction. Sure it was a little over the top, and of course it was a liitle cheesy, but she seemed pleased all the same, and Jacob felt relieved. He took her hand, and kissed it gently. "Well, this was all already here. Took me a while to find it again, but you are absolutely worth it. All I really did was put the table out here, and make the path." Jacob pulled Kadie close into him, and brushed her hair, smiling. "Sure this place is beautiful, but it is nothing compared to the beauty radiating off of you." Jacob kissed Kadie lightly, and held her close.
