Cleo wandered aimlessly through the forest, just getting her bearings. She had only been at the castle for a few days but she knew already that she would love it here. The classes were interesting, and seemingly optional as no one seemed to notice if you spent the day sun bathing rather than studying. The castle and grounds were beautiful and the company was excellent. She smiled as her fingertips brushed against the rough bark of trees she passed. Eventually she reached a clearing and she sat down, resting against a tree. She began to sing under her breath, her voice was something that not many people knew she had and she liked it that way, as much joy as singing gave her.

Kadie was just walking along, thinking about life in general. She couldn't really hear Cleo, since she was singing under her breath, but she heard it slightly. She could not tell though that she was singing. Kadie herself was a big fan of music, and she loved to sing. She didn't really sing for anyone else, but it was something that she loved to do. She finally saw Cleo after wandering to the source of the noise.
"Hey," she said with a slight nod. She wasn't sure if she knew the girl or not, but hey. Now that she was no longer acting like the Snow Queen she had begun to start liking to meet more people.

Cleo stopped singing instantly, that was one thing she was shy about and she didn't want other people hearing her. "Hey," she said casually, smiling easily. Cleo looked at her, judging that the girl was probably younger than her, thouhg not my much and also probably not a slytherin. Over th years Cleo had become extremely good at judging people in a glance and it had always been a useful talent.

"Hey," she said back.
"I'm Kadie," she introduced herself. Usually when she said her name, people were like The Snow Queen. Funny, most everybody said that she should have been sorted in Slytherin since she was so icy and cold. But, she wasn't that way anymore. Really though, she didn't care about the different houses and what not. It didn't mater one iota to her.

Cleo laughed a little, Hey seemed to be the standard response around here. "Cleo" she said, introducing herself. She liked her name, the way it rolled off the tongue, and everyone remembered it as it was so different. "Nice to meet you" she said with a slight nod.

"Nice to meet you too," she said with a smile as she sat down.
"So, I don't think I've ever seen you around. Are you new to Hogwarts? Or have I just been totallly oblivious?" she asked with a laugh.
"I usually am you know. I'm bad with faces and names," she added with a grin.

Cleo laughed, "No I'm new" she said. "I'm exactly the same," she said, sympathising with Kadie, "Unless the name is a guy's and the face is cute!" she said with a giggle.
"I have really met any girls yet, it has just been guys" she explained as she drew up her knees. "So what gossip is hot at the moment?" she asked, she would find out sooner or later anyway, but this way it would be sooner.

She laughed at Cleo's first comments. Sounded about right for most girls. As she asked about the gossip, Kadie thought about it.
"Well, my best friend and I provide a lot of gossip. But that's only because I used to be considered the Snow Queen, and now that I'm dating someone I'm happy. There's bets to see how long my relationship is gonna last," she said with a slight grin to show that she didn't care.
"Other then that, I don't listen much," she admitted.

Cleo listened with interest, "A girl after my own heart" she teased Kadie gently, "We make the gossip, not find out about it" she said with a laugh. "It seems I will have to do a bit of digging then, she mused to herself." She looked back at Kadie, smiling, "So how much do you know about Chase Firedbrand?" she said casually, her interest in him hidden.

She laughed.
"Exactly," she agreed. Ah, so it seemed that this girl might just be into Chase.
"Well, I know more then I care to about Chase, but probably not a lot actually. You ought to be careful around that dude. But hey, what do I know? I was the Snow Queen who hated pretty much every guy around here. That's gone done some, but some things never change. And I pretty much dislike guys like Chase. In fact, dislike may be too soft a word," she admitted with a laugh.

"Then maybe he needs to be taught a lesson" Cleo murmured with a mischevious smile, her eyes sparkling. "I might be just the girl to do it" she said, grinning like a cheshire cat at Kadie. "So are there any good looking members of the other species around here?" she asked innocently, the use of species intentional.

She laughed then nodded. She'd been the girl to teach a lot of guys around here a lesson. Many guys were still afraid of her, even though she wasn't really the Snow Queen anymore.
"There are a lot of good-looking guys around here. The trick is to actually find one who is more then just good-looking," she said with a wink.
"Oh, stay away from Ryan Magby if you can help it. He's with this girl named Vannah, but he can't seem to keep it in his pants with the other girls either," she said, her face darkening as she thought about that guy. Geez, she really hated guys like that.

Cleo looked at Kadie in interest. "You wouldn't believe it. I met him earlier when I was out by the lake. I know about Vannah, and an ex-fiance, Gabby was mentioned, are there any more girls?" she asked curiously. She brushed her fringe out of her eyes, smiling easily at Kadie. They got on well, shared the same sense of humour and the same opinion on guys, maybe Cleo had found a friend.

She laughed a bit.
"Did he try to make you feel sorry for him?" she asked with a slight smirk, unable to help herself.
"Yeah, there's Eloise, and probably some more girls that he's got on the side. Who knows?" she said with a shrug.
"Guys like that can never just commit themselves to just one girl. Girls always deserve better then that. And the sad thing of it is? Vannah has already gone through way too much to have to deal with a cheating boyfriend. Men like Ryan make me sick," she explained.
"In fact, he's not a man. He's little boy. Cause boys can't control when to keep it in their pants. And one day, it's gonna bite him in the ass, and I hope I'm there to see it," she said.
"Sorry. I'm just cynical when it comes to guys," she added with a laugh.

Cleo shook her head. "No surprisingly he said he probably deserved the tongue lashing I gave him" she said with a grin. "I suppose I did kiss him to make up for it afterwards" she said cheekily, remembering the look on his face with a laugh. "Messing with them is fun" she admitted, although she wasn't ashamed of it.
"That's fine, boys are my play things" Cleo said, smiling. "I was known as the biggest flirt when it came to balls and socials. The boys appreciated it and I don't take myself seriously" she said shrugging, she knew that many people disapproved of her behavious, but she saw no harm in it. "The boys often deserve it" she said.
