Dare was set up at the edge of the forest, sketchbook open, waiting for anyone who'd decided to join the club. It had gotten started surprisingly fast; the Headmistress had no objections, and she'd given leave to do pretty much whatever they wanted.
He'd chosen the edge of the forest for the first meeting because it was technically fair ground, technically not out of bounds, but it still had the general feel of the forest. Plus, they could retreat inside if they wanted to. In the meantime, it was easier to find each other here in the open.
Dare sat on the grass, color pencils in hand, and drew, eager for things to begin, and unable to just sit. The energy needed an outlet, and what more appropriate outlet was there than this?

Belle came into view with her art supplies in her bag, slung on her shoulder.
"Hey Dare," she said cheerfully as she sat down on the grass by him and got out her things. She was excited about this. She started drawing herself.
She was glad that an art club had been established. It would be interesting to talk to the other people who enjoyed art in the school.

Dare looked up as Belle set up beside him. "Hey, looks like you kept your word," he said, smiling. "So, looks like we're a massive club of two so far." His eyes shone with amusement. He hadn't really been waiting for long; he'd just put out the fliers.
"So, what are you drawing?" Dare asked, flicking a glance at Belle's paper. "You don't have to show me," he said, eyes light with the reference to their previous conversation. "Just wondering what your subject is."

She laughed.
"Well, hopefully more people will start coming. But if not, their loss," she responded. She blushed as he asked her what she was drawing. She was drawing Liam from memory.
"Well, it's not finished yet," she said handing him her notebook so that he could see.
"What are you drawing?" she asked curiously.

Dare's eyes swept over the lines Belle had laid out, the recognizable form of some male face he didn't know. "It's well laid-out," he observed, then looked up at Belle as he handed the book back to her.
He looked down at his notebook then, and the drawing he'd been working on. His lips curved into an a mischievous grin. "I'm drawing a pirate," he said, turning his sketchbook so she could see. It was Captain Jack Sparrow, hatless, by moonlight.

Cassie strolled down across the lawn towards Dare and another girl. She had loved the idea of a club as she really wanted to improve her work. "Hey" she said, greeting them both as she sat down and immediately pulled out her sketchpad and charcoal. "How are you guys?" she asked as she flipped through her book until she found what she was looking for, an unfished sketch of a ballerina sitting on the floor as she laced up her shoes.

She smiled as she saw his drawing. She loved captain Jack Sparrow. She was quite a fan. Yup, she really had grown up with the best of both worlds. She was truly a muggle at heart when it came to movies and such. She considered movies an art in and of itself. She smiled as another girl came to join them.
"Great, how are you?" she asked cheerfully.

"Cassie," Dare said, greeting her with a smile. "I wondered if you'd show up." He looked at Belle, then back to Cassie as he tackled her question. "I think we're both doing pretty good right now. You two know each other?" He couldn't be sure, so he figured it was worth asking. If they were going to be meeting, they should know each other's names.

Cassie smiled as her fingers dashed the charcoal against the page smoothly, defining the curve of the dancer's back as she leaned forward. "Good thanks," she said to the other girl before turning to Dare. "The one and only" she said with a mischevious grin as he pronounced her name as if it was a statement to the world. "Nope, I'm Cassie" she said with a smile at the other girl, who she judged was younger than her.

Michael had gotten the invitation and immediately and without thought known he would join. He headed down to the edge of the forest and smiled when he saw Dare sitting by a tree with two other girls, only one of which he knew. His drawing pad was tucked under his arm and his materials were still in their shrunken box in his pocket. "Hello everyone," he said, coming up on the small group and sitting down on the other side of Dare, not as close as he could have, glancing over his shoulder to see what he was drawing. His lips curved and he pulled out his own materials.

"I'm Belle," she introduced herself. She smiled as another guy came over and joined them. She was sure that she'd seen Cassie around before, but hey. She was bad with names. She knew though that if they kept meeting like this in a group, she'd get down everyone's names and remember.
"Hello," she said back to the guy with a smile. She was glad that Cassie and the guy had shown up. Even if it was just the four of them, it'd be okay.

Dare's smile curved into a grin at Michael's approach. He'd been afraid that Michael might not show up. "I'm glad you came," he said under his breath. They hadn't so much as spoken since the masquerade.
Dare raised bright eyes to the small, but enthusiastic group gathered around. "I think I'll just consider this us, and if anyone else comes along, they can join in. You guys cool with that?" he asked. "So, like, I haven't ever really been in charge of a club before, so any suggestions are welcome," he said.

Cassie nodded in agreement, smiling at Michael as he arrived. "Maybe we should try a different technique each time we meet" she suggested, setting down her charcoal for the moment. "And I'm sure we all favour different mediums, so we can take it in turns to tutor the others using our favourite materials" she added. She looked between the three of them, then back to Dare, he was the boss after all. "What do you think?" she asked.

Michael nodded at Dare, "Why wouldn't I?" he murmured back. He wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to both be with Dare and with others that enjoyed art. He was good with whatever Dare decided to do, he himself had never exactly been a leader, so to speak. He lay his pad in his lap, not opening it just yet. "Don't ask me for ideas," he said lightly. "What she said sounds good," he nodded towards Cassie.

"I think that sounds good," Belle nodded with agreement at Cassie's words. Belle for sure was not a leader, but she could make suggestions whenever they were needed. She couldn't help but laugh as Michael said not to ask him for ideas. She felt sort of the same way, but knew that she'd probably get some. She just hoped that she'd come to feel comfortable enough to voice them. She'd gotten comfortable around Dare quickly enough in the common room, and she was already starting to feel more so that way with the other two, so it shouldn't be too hard.
