Dare's immediate silence spoke volumes. What could he say to that? He thought he was, but how well could you really know someone you'd only really spoken with three times, even if those three times were etched forever into your memory? "Not as close as you've been," he said. The words were deceptive; in a lot of ways, Emilian was still closer to Michael, but in others...Dare knew how absurdly lucky he was to have gotten as close as he was, far closer than Emilian had ever gotten.

Emilian brought his eyes up for a moment, watching Dare intently for a few long seconds before standing. He nearly said something, but his lips were sealed, they wouldn't open to form words. He still wasn't sure what was going on, all he knew was that Dare wasn't telling him everything or that he was reading way too far into things. His own silence probably said more than he ever intended it to as he shoved his fingers in his pockets and turned to leave, trying to bring thoughts of Adara to flood his mind.

"Wait," Dare said impulsively, pushing to his feet. His mind had kicked into gear again, putting together everything that had happened in the cafe in a rush at the threat of Emilian probably disappearing into obscurity. "If I wanted to...just draw you, do a couple studies or something, what would you say?" What he wanted was a figure study, but he wasn't going to push that far, even knowing that Emilian, of all the people Dare had met since moving here, might actually do it. That was the chance he was hoping for. Eventually, if it came to it, but he'd had to ask.

Emilian stopped and turned, raising an eyebrow when he saw Dare coming to him, his eyes trailing up Dare's tall frame instinctively before settling on his eyes. "What would it involve?" he asked after a few moments' silence. It was an interesting request, one he hadn't heard before, but he wouldn't immediately turn it down, if only because he was caught off-guard by the question.

Dare's blood rushed with the possibilities, his eyes gleamed, but he reigned himself in. "Whatever you're willing to do," he said, knowing how that would sound, and maybe, just maybe meaning it that way. He let the words sit for just a moment before going on. "A few portraits if that's all you want, just sit for me, or if that's too much trouble, do whatever you normally do and I'll observe. I could give you copies if you wanted, a drawing, a painting, whatever."

Emilian thought for a minute, then nodded, "Alright, we'll try it." He wasn't sure why he was willing to try it, but the guy hadn't gotten on his nerves, hadn't rubbed him the wrong way. Emilian saw nothing wrong with it. "I don't want anything of me," he said, a thought coming into his mind at Dare's offer. "But would you do one of someone else?" He didn't think Adara would mind sitting for one.

Dare's head inclined in momentary thought, though the answer was easy. "I would," he said. He wondered what exactly Emilian had in mind, if they were still on his subtly worded request for figure studies or, more likely, portraits. "Just tell me when and where you want me, what you want, and I'll get everything ready." He was near exploding with excitement at the prospects already.

"I'm almost always at my shop, the jewelry place down in Hogsmeade," he said, just in case Dare didn't know. "I don't care much when you come, if I'm not downstairs call for me." Emilian thought, trying to think what he wanted, but nothing specific came to mind. "And you're the artist, I'll let you decide what to do, if I don't like it I'll tell you." He was, basically, giving Dare free reign, something he rarely did. After it started Emilian would have a better idea and be able to tell Dare what he wanted, as it was he wasn't sure.

"All right," Dare said, lips curving into what was unmistakably a grin. "Sometime in the next couple weeks then. I'll do some drawings, you can decide what you want, and we'll go from there." Paint and canvas were expensive; he saved them for special occasions or the uber-rare request. "So, I'll...see you there." Dare's mind was entirely on art again, thrilled at the prospects of a new project.

Emilian nodded, "I'll keep a look out." He watched Dare for a second more before turning and leaving. The whole thing was strange, but he was looking forward to it, it would be an interesting meeting to say the least. And if he got something done of Adara because of it then all the better. His eyes gleamed and his mind started working, thinking up ideas that he would never put to words.

Dare's grin only widened as Emilian left the cafe. Aside from what he did as a hobby, he'd only ever done the odd drawing for friends or family, or assignments for the odd art class his parents had paid for. This was going to be a study, a chance to work out different aspects of the same subject, or rather subjects, since Emilian had mentioned someone else. Dare was eager to get started, but he wanted to be ready first. He'd need a fresh sketchbook for the project, need to make sure he had all his supplies. Dare packed up his box, gathered his sketchbook and headed out of the cafe, already making plans.
